My new cup opponent has been revealed.

He’s from HK, Active with OR 2,211,217.

He’s frugal with transfers, never takes hits and used his WC 8th December. He made the shrewd decision of bringing Pogba into his team but hasn’t been captaining him, in fact he captains Kane every week, so I doubt he will change with him up against Cardiff.

He has no Salah, Hazard or Man City players. His three Liverpool are all at the back.

I can mitigate his Kane capt by bringing him in for Aguero but I should really beat him without the need.

I face a Pool fan from Egypt. No prizes for guessing his usual captain choice. Unlike me, he's rolling over all his cup opponents; his smallest winning margin so far is 25 points, my biggest margin is 13. Doesn't look promising.

Next up for me is a Swede who has used all his bonuses. But he’s recently shot up from 1.2m to 574k. His three Chelsea might hurt me.

I’ve also updated my FPL button as previously requested

I’m up against an American with an OR of 1.7 million.
His average midfielder value is less than 6m so I don’t know how he’s managed to get this far with the form of some of the premium midfielders recently.
Looks like he’ll captain Kane again, so I may do the same.
Still a long way to go until the round 10 of the cup which I reached a few years ago!

I have a dead team from Cambodia (!). He will be captaining Salah (and has Mané) vs Man City, so a lot could hinge on that. Spurs defensive semi too.

I'm out by three points. Largely due to him owning and captaining Salah.

Playing a Malaysian team who appears to like taking hits, which makes me feel better as I may join him! Likely to be a close one as we share several players so may well come down to captain choice.

Seriously close in my game. I lead 51-49 with Salah and TAA to play vs his Robertson and VVD.

Basically city have to score or Salah goes crazy with some help from TAA.

Through to the next round for the first time ever. Usually I drop at the first or second hurdle.

This makes a poor season more interesting again.

I’m going out due to an outrageous 1bp awarded to Robertson. Was going through before that on goals. Can’t believe he gets a point above Aguero, so many others in fact.
