Seems an odd choice, with Spurs in the middle of an injury crisis and less than effervescent. If using it in a sgw I think conditions would need to be close to perfect.

Yeah everyone says use it in a DGW, but I can't find a single historic example where anyone got more than 1 goal in a DGW? Ever?

Try Sanchez in 2016/17, hatrick if I remember (may have been 15/16 though).

What's the record? On paper it seems smart, but in practice? I'm struggling to find supporting evidence.

What I can find is that there are far more clean sheets in April and May (double game weeks??) than in October / November and for some reasons away teams find it almost impossible to keep clean sheets this time of year.

Then I look at Cardiff and they have conceded 3, 4 and 5 goals when playing the top6 teams.


All of the convention wisdom on it seems to be stuff that looks good on paper but has no historical evidence. If anyone has a black swan that proves otherwise would be good to see it...

Will try! Quality of posts should improve as still v.new to the game, may be prone to howlers like this for a while. Please keep pulling me up on my blunders.

So I transferred in Kane for Aguero at 5.08pm BST today. And then forgot to captain Kane. So erm, go, Salah (c), Hazard (v). The kicker is i’m going to the Spurs game tomorrow. The humiliation* will not be televised, it will be live.
*This error is probably going to cost me about four expected points so and if Kane hauls at least I have 24hrs of hope. The bigger embarrassment is getting Kane in and not captaining him.
