So are Liverpool going to rotate against Southampton?
Here are their fixtures:
Sep 15, PL: Tottenham - Liverpool 1-2
Sep 18, CL: Liverpool - PSG 3-2
Sep 22, PL: Liverpool - Southampton
Sep 26, CC: Liverpool - Chelsea
Sep 29, PL: Chelsea - Liverpool
Oct 03, CL: Napoli - Liverpool
Oct 07, PL: Manchester City - Liverpool
So it's a very busy schedule and quite difficult fixtures as well. Only Southampton in GW6 may be considered as a match they should win quite comfortably, so is it possible or even likely they will rest some of our key fantasy players in that match? Or will they rather rest players against Chelsea in Carabao Cup, and just take whatever result comes from that match? I guess Chelsea might field quite a strong lineup in that match because they have much easier schedule, but perhaps Liverpool don't even mind if they go out from Carabao Cup?
Or will they just play their strongest lineup throughout this busy schedule?
I want opinions!

Wijnaldum and/or Milner maybe getting a break?
Some suggesting Salah to get a break, as a manager I’d play him in the home of getting him back on the goal trail.
Full backs could be due a rest (but resting Trent means playing Gomez there... which is maybe counter productive - rest one to beast another).
Klopp did tend to play full strength teams last season but I don’t suppose he had players like Henderson, Keita, Shaqiri, Sturridge to call upon.
My guess is pretty much first team v Southampton.
Mass rotate v Chelsea in the Carabao.

Re: So are Liverpool going to rotate against Southampton?
Just an opinion not fact but I believe they will rest key players for Southampton. It has been a world cup summer and they have a really hard month to come. Players will need resting or they may face injury problems later in the season.
Robertson, VVD, Salah, Mane are all a risk starting and on field minits.
Firmino could be safe but even he will get reduced playing time. I have him at the moment but have taken Salah out to fund upgrades elsewhere.

Re: So are Liverpool going to rotate against Southampton?
Well, I never have strong opinions on anything, as you know F1. I'm clearly very much in the Stemania fence-sitting mould.
With the PL game between Chelsea & Pool following on the Saturday (less than 3 days later) it's fairly obvious how the rotation will go I'd have thought. I reckon that both Liverpool and Chelsea will rotate fairly heavily for the CC game. Sarri has spoken about using 20-21 players over the next 3 games and Klopp will be no different. The CC game will be largely squad players, maybe 5-6 players rested from the first XI by each I reckon. Meaning little rotation this weekend.
Shaqiri, Sturridge, Fabinho, Clyne, Moreno, Matip... I'd expect all of those to start for Liverpool next Wednesday.

I’d forgotten about Clyne
@Oxford Tuesday/Saturday (both at home) should mean minimal reason to rotate for Saints (not forgetting VvD and Robertson had the summer off).

Definitely hoping the above is right, and it makes sense. Virtually full strength this week and mass changes against Chelsea in the CC
Helps that salah and firmino had varying rests against PSG

Few rests against Soutgampton but only those with issues as a double rest seems OTT and playing them in Cariboooo Cup seems pointless.
11 changes midweek possible without resorting to kids. Probably play Hendo and Keita though as they have been rotating already.
Mignolet
Clyne Lovren Matip Moreno
Henderson Keita Fabinho
Shaqiri Sturridge Solanke/Origi

Is there any leaks any more from RAWK about the Liverpool line up? The big theory was handy in previous seasons. Or was there not a twitter account last season that was pretty useful for the early line up.

Just my opinion but Klopp should be playing best 11 every league game unless a player is red lining.
Rest in champions league if you have to . The league is the big prize this season

There was Anfield Express twitter account last season who had 100% success rate every time he posted a lineup. But he closed his account.MartyBhoy7 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 09:36 Is there any leaks any more from RAWK about the Liverpool line up? The big theory was handy in previous seasons. Anyway, do we have any reliable Liverpool ITK's in twitter? There are some City ITK's, but is there anyone from Liverpool?

Re: So are Liverpool going to rotate against Southampton?
I would say come Saturday, the centre mids will have a change.
No need for the 3 that played on Tuesday. Keita will come in. To be honest, Trent could be worth resting as well, but he won't be. Remember he was allowed to come back from WC duty early...but at his age, he should be given the odd rest IMO. Considering it's Clyne as back-up it's not a massive downgrade, and resting him vs Southampton+ Chelsea would be a wise move i think.
Those are the only two i see this weekend as possibles.
Wednesday as everyone says will be the big changes.
I see Fabinho coming in for Chelsea, probably not Southampton but not impossible. Curtis Jones + Camacho will get some form of run out next Wed as well.

Re: So are Liverpool going to rotate against Southampton?
I think he'll make a few minor changes in MF but that's about it, the whole first 11 will sit out the league cup game IMO.
Klopp said last season that Tue-Sat is not a problem.

It isn't a problem OldSkoolFPL, but when you have more options to use it'll be worth using them in the long run. Chelsea, Chelsea, Napoli afterwards as well!OldSkoolFPL wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 14:57 I think he'll make a few minor changes in MF but that's about it, the whole first 11 will sit out the league cup game IMO.

It typical LFC style (hopefully of old) we will draw with Southampton and perform far better in the big games lol

Interview on Chelsea TV, can't link it. But I guess if you google around you'll find it somewhere.

There is a chance, higher than the normal chance, but with the premier league being everything for Pool (IMO) - I would guess at not.
