Sarah said he'd only seen him play\train a few times.

Woy has been quoted: "I'd bang Chelsea's door down to get him back." He could be part of any Zaha deal?

Wolves have agreed an 18m fee with Boro for Traore.

That kills Costa as an option

4.5m Midfielder

Whose your bench warmer ? The player that will probably only play in emergency. I’m on Hudson-Odoi at the moment. But when Hazard and William are back maybe only likely to get a few mins every now and again.(assuming not loaned out)
Stephens gets the minutes but not much of a forward threat.
Any thoughts?

Couldn’t find one I was happy with so my 5th midfielder will be one of the £5.0m players that are nailed to start just in-case I need to make use of him.

I'm looking at AMN, lots of Arsenal fans think he could challenge for the LB role, obviously that would mean he's reverse OOP but at least he'd be getting games, also a real utility player, will always be on the bench and can cover a few roles. Always looked good when I've seen him play.

Also watching Guendouzi, played very well pre season and another who could be an outside bet for staking a claim in the 1st team, only problem with him is that he's not as versatile as AMN, so not as many routes for him to get minutes.

There isn't much else, could be worth spending the extra 0.5 as lots of decent 5m options.

For 5m you could do worse than look at Tom Cairney from Fulham:

- 6 goals and 5 assists in 17/18
- 13 goals and 10 assists in 16/17
- 8 goals and 6 assists in 15/16

Not a flashy player but a fairly solid midfielder that should start most games for them and have the odd good game.

What do people think of Kante @ 5.0

I know he’s only just back from WC etc but I’m comsidering him. Apparantly Jorginho will be the deep lying midfielder which might give Kante a more box to box role? Any Chelsea fans who can give some insight?

If they give baps by the yard missed on shots his row z efforts could be gold

He took two shots last year that went for throw ins which Opta thought were misplaced passes

As of yet Kanté and Jorginho have not played together, difficult to guess how they will dovetail Jorginho looks like the midfield general with a 1 or 2 touch passing game ,I like it that he is generally on the half turn and looking to play forwards. I assume that Kanté will have to move over to one of the flanks to create some width. He may well get forward a lot more ? HIs roll this season may well be a bit different.

I'm also on HO but I'm probably going to put him in my 1st 11 initially as he may start. And if he doesn't the auto sub kicks in so no drama.

Thing is, for me personally, if i'm paying 5m for a mid i'd want to play him every week pretty much - Milivojevic of last season was a prime example. Otherwise I'd just pick a 4.5m 2 pointer.

Yep to both the last 2: HO has to start - FFS Chelsea's LWer on an FPL bench    then just hope he doesn't get that 1 min 0 pointer for a Yellow Card.

Having him, Kamara and 8-8.5m on 2 Defs has a certain appeal.....

Best stats of the price band
Team has good fixtures
Stanislas injured means less rotation risk?

Also interested in Cairney 5.0 and Armstrong 5.5
Surely no 5m midfielder has better attacking stats than Cairney? Armstrong is a classy player - will certainly provide assists and can score long range efforts. If he was 5 he’d be my pick all day long.

Both unproven at this level.
Cairney's appeal is that one that made many turn to Milivojevic last season. Don't dismiss him.

But I've entertained the idea of Fraser. Fixtures are good, but Bournemouth have hardly built their squad.

I would say that Doucoure was that player last season.

Interestingly... this local press article is speculating that Costa will retain his place. They think Traore's arrival will free up Jota to play up front:

Could just be wishful thinking on their part of course.

That article does suggest Traore fitting in at LW, which seems unlikely to me considering he has almost always played on the right during his career. More likely might be Costa switching to the left, as he can play both.

Either way I'm quite interested in the Wolves striker, whoever that turns out to be. If it's Jiminez then a 5.5m frontman in a very creative team looks outstanding value to me; if it's Jota, it's a 6.5m OOP midfielder and that also looks great.

I really fancy Wolves this year as an attacking outfit - they've made some great signings. Might steer clear of them defensively though.

Has anyone looked at Ki Sung Yeung - now at Newcastle?

He's always been in struggling teams (Swansea/Sunderland) and his best season at Swansea returned 8 goals, 1 assist and 11 clean sheets. That was also the only season he seemed to play the majority of games.

I know Newcastle seem in a bit of turmoil, but I rate any Rafa team to have a fighting chance.

Just trying to think of a decent 5.0m differential (already have Cairney).

Shelvey and Diame still look like first choice in central midfield going into the new season. Ki's best ever season was when playing with Shelvey though.

Anyone mentioned Matteo Guendouzi of Arsenal (4.5), played the most minutes of all Arsenal in preseason and reports say he's decent. Maybe not, not even sure what position he plays, but he has nice hair and i do like to try and pick out a rare cheapy.

He is good. Tidy little link player type.

They need a bit of muscle in there, imho, Nzonzi could be a good buy for them.
