GW31 punts

Post by MPTree »

Alright there, gang!

Who's got a cheeky little pick in mind for GW31? Is there someone you're going to take a chance on, either as a transfer or part of your FH? I assume most will have three 'Pool players. Shaq and Walcott also seem like popular picks. Wilson too, I suppose.

But what about Rodriguez vs a Bournemouth seemingly incapable of keeping a clean sheet?
Or King. More pricey than Wilson, but often good for a goal?
Any Bournemouth mids worth it? Always seems like a bit of a lottery to me, but then I don't know the team well.

Who do you fancy to do well? Who are you taking a chance on? And tell me at least one of you is considering Benteke.

Rondón? Surely if WBA are to get any goals, he is likely to be involved? He has certainly put a shift in for his team in recent weeks and I felt anyway he has been a bit unlucky at times.

Josh King also a good option.

I'm taking Siggurdson over Walcott, almost 1m more so a bit punty. How about Townsend?

I fancy a Bournemouth clean sheet against West Brom, I'm thinking Francis as a cheapie defender.

I've got Pritchard and will bring in King (but not sure he will be classed as a punt in GW31)

Is Benteke a punt? thought he looked good last night and only a DDG wonder save stopped a double digit haul. PVA is another who looked decent.

I quite like the idea of some differentials to go with x 3 Liverpool and Shaqiri.

Richarlison is another, very risky as hasn't completed 90 minutes in the last 5 games, but he's outrageously talented and has 4 really good fixtures following GW31, if he can rediscover early season form would be a great buy.

I think all mine outside of the 3 Liverpool/Shaqiri are all punts because they are doing absolutely nothing at the moment.

Pickford, Doucoure, Walcott and Wilson, if they all do something it'll be an amazing week.

I'd love to jump on a punt, but my team won't really allow me as I don't want to get rid of the blanking players (Alonso, Bellerin, Mahrez, Son and Kane). That being said, tempted to get Quaner out for JRod (on the money for that as well).

Tempted on Ake or a Bou defender for a hit. Hud mid/attacker is tempting too. Might have a hit or two but nothing crazy.

Baines or Coleman. They are punts for me though really. I think I've been caught by focusing too much on this 1 gameweek. I will field 11 and hopefully that brings points

One or two players brought in with 31 in mind have done well for me so far and 1 or 2 less so (looking at you Walcott!)

My current possible punt is lossl in goals vs butland or Pickford

I'm a bit torn and haven't had in Huddersfield players bar Quaner as a cheapie and mooy for a few weeks for fun cus he's Aussie and I like him

I’m toying with Lossl and la Parra now.

Had been planning on McArthur as a long term bench warmer as well as GW31 player (switching to McTominay at some point maybe).

But now considering la Parra on the off chance he can get me more than 2 points in GW31.

Will likely replace Giroud with Benteke or Josh King for GW31. Both look decent punts, particularly Benteke who has hit a bit of a patch of form with returns in 7 of the last 8..

Subject to deciding I prefer Mahrez to Vardy, mind..

out of interest anyone know if you still get your weekly transfer when you use your free hit? and if so do you have to take it first or will it just give you 2 the next week?

Only got 5 players atm (3xLIV, Wilson, Choupo-Mouting), so would probably not be a lot of "punts" with my next 2FT, but rather covering the "key" players. Not sure who that might be, though  Maybe Shaqiri and a defender/GK, maybe one of Stanislas/Siggy.

Something more punty would be Townsend - quite tempted by him actually.

You don’t get the transfer, and you don’t get 2 the following week - effectively it disappears forever.
Additionally, any transfers you make in your FH week before activating the FH are not retained - your team goes back to how it was at the start of the week.

Hope this helps!

On a similar line, if you have 2 banked will you still have then available the week after using the FH?

From the FPL Rules page: "Please note that when playing either a Wildcard or your Free Hit chip, any saved free transfers will be lost. You will be back to the usual 1 free transfer the following Gameweek."

Does Coleman count as a punt?

I’m unsure on him as a pick as he clearly won’t be in full swing yet after that injury. But that’s why it’s a punt I guess.

Buying him this GW unless things change.

2 week punt of BRI sto.

I quite fancy PVA as a punt. He's certainly looking very attacking and we know he's capable of a big haul.

I've gone for him this week. He adds so much going forward and Sam can't afford to play anything other than his strongest eleven at the moment.

Coleman less of a punt than most

Baines is puntier

Funes Mori is the puntiest

This is mostly making me think I’m not going to go too heavy on the idea of a Huddersfield clean sheet. Not sure I’m going to punt on Zaha though. Maybe PVA looks a bit better in a more potent team.

I've punted on PVA as my Ogbonna replacement. He's looking good of late and has decent fixtures generally beyond this week.

I think PVA and Zaha are good picks irrespective of GW31. Shame neither of them is a forward as it's a Kane replacement I'm less sure on.

Well he blanks this week and then there's a break, so no rush to make a decision. Aubemyang would be my hypothetical replacement if it turns out to be a bad one.
