How many points hits have you taken?

Just curious to know how many points hits other managers have taken this season?

I've taken 36 (9 transfers) which I feel is a bit too many.

3 (12 points) here, and one of them was bad/unnecessary (not just in hindsight - it was a rushed decision shortly before the deadline and I had already decided before kick-off that it was bad).

I might bring you some comfort here (a trouble shared is a trouble halved )
starting as a clueless newbie, I did 39 total transfers (not counting WC) so far, for 17 hits! (-68p)

I began on the get go in GW2 taking -8p (to bring in Siggy, Berahino and... Chester )
Then I limited myself to -4p at a time, except...

• -12p for GW12 to bring in Costa AND Aguero
  -8p for GW16, to get rid of the injured Aguero and other red flags

in total, one triple hit, two doubles and TEN singles
not counting GW1 and the 2 WC, I only had 9 GW without hits, and just two without making a Transfer

This is DEFINITELY and area I must work on too!

breaking it down:

• 7 hits from GW2 to 11 (with WC GW8 inbetween)
  the Triple in GW12
  6 hits From GW15 to 19
  only 1 from GW20 to 25 (including of course the Jan WC)

I'm already getting better!

of course it includes the net +48 I got with the two WC, and the Capt doubles when I just moved them in, and it only compares the players in the GW you did the Transfer (not in the following)
but still... I come up ahead despite all those hit points spent!

And yet you're still having a fantastic season, likely better than many others who have perhaps been more reluctant to take points hits. If anything, I think this proves that people overstate the damaging effect of hit-taking. Everyone's team is different. If you feel that a points hit is right for you at a certain time, even if you might not have planned it, you should always take the hit.

Looking at my own record this season, I found something very interesting: 24 points (6 hits) taken in total. All 6 hits in the first 16 GWs. I achieved one of my highest ranks directly after my last hit: 1,878. In the 9 GWs since then, I have taken no hits, and plummeted to a ranking of 10,245. Coincidence? Perhaps. But perhaps it's not, and I should have taken more hits. Perhaps I have let my team stagnate too much and need to make more frequent changes to it.

It's certainly given me some food for thought.

I agree that Aaron's having a good season, and looks to have made some good decisions.

In terms of the amount of hits not costing him, I feel this is more down to the fact that taking 7 hits, rather than say 3, has a much smaller effect than the randomness of the results in matches. If those extra four hits were of no benefit whatsoever they would have only cost 16 points, and If someone was 16 points behind you or indeed you were 16 points behind them, you'd hardly claim there was a large difference in how well you were doing that season.

I definitely agree with most of what else that was said, namely that hits are dependant on circumstance.

Feels like fewer than in previous years, so I was a little surprised when I went back and checked. On reflection, I took a few early to save my wildcard, and in almost all weeks I took hits I still improved my ranking, so I am OK with it.

The fact is, I have been more considered in deciding when to take points hits, and I am sure I have benefited as a result.

I've taken 3, but I am willing to be a bit looser now I've used both wildcards. If my team needs fixing, I will take the hits and fix it.
