Re: Daily Star 2012/13
Business as usual here - the Classic YTM flame being carried forward by Clever TV. .
With 24 transfers and a single daily deadline - this is one for those who prefer the long game. IMHO, it still has the best scoring system, although I suspect that some were hoping for a choice of team formations (I'm quite happy with 4-3-3 - and anything is better than having a choice that can't be changed once the season starts).
Expect to see the usual suspects from the UK and overseas - the (nicely split) prize pool isn't big by comparison with Classic YTM, but it is now very competitive with TFF and the Mirror's new game.

Re: Daily Star 2012/13
Many YTM 'veterans' played The Star game last season and I expect more will join them this season because of the changes to the Mirror game, particularly seasonal players as the Mirror now only has 2 individual prizes in that category and first prize has droped to 30k. The Mirror still looks more attractive to monthly players as the prize is 5k, compared with 1k in The Star game.coleridge wrote:wow i really enjoyed the old mirror game. i did'nt realise clever ran the star game.

Why have they given the assist to Felainis goal to Baines .? Thought it was Gibson ?

Re: Daily Star 2012/13
11,560 teams entered - which is surprising low even allowing for the fact that it's not possible to enter this one with just a single free team - but a quality field. Had a quick scan through the top 1,000 and only big names missing were former YTM champs Zoran, Rui and Darren...maybe just a slow start?
Good luck everyone.

It was probably force of habit to think Baines had the corner assist.shakermeister wrote:Why have they given the assist to Felainis goal to Baines .? Thought it was Gibson ?

Re: Daily Star 2012/13
Zoran and Rui can't play officially because the game is restricted to UK and ROI residents now. Same with the Mirror and Sun. Although they are probably playing by proxy. Darren has retired from FF afaik.AkNotSpur wrote:11,560 teams entered - which is surprising low even allowing for the fact that it's not possible to enter this one with just a single free team - but a quality field. Re: Daily Star 2012/13
Didn't play any game except for the free credits for the sun game. Not even a £1 spent
Didn't even play the free games. Prefer the aces suited than the Suarez's and Torres's.
I remember a few years back, saying to Andy L that I so wanted to win for the second time. Now I've had over 30 separate wins and with fantasy football on the decline, it's time for a well deserved rest as I'm tired of picking f'king football teams
Good luck to all of you. May the best man win.
Oh I can't

Re: Daily Star 2012/13
Quite a lot less than last year isn't it? Although I don't remember the number at the start of last season.AkNotSpur wrote:11,560 teams entered - which is surprising low even allowing for the fact that it's not possible to enter this one with just a single free team - but a quality field. Assuming the majority have got the 3 for 2 deal, you're only talking £70-75k coming in. I know there will be monthlies added, but that can't cover the running costs, let alone prizes. Would't be surprised if it is not around next season. For some reason they always seem to launch late and I have not seen any marketing of it.

Re: Daily Star 2012/13
In actual fact, The Star competition can be played by overseas residents. This clause from the T&C is exactly the same one used by YTM for its last few seasons - and they always paid out to those from outside the UK & Ireland...Stoneybatter wrote:Zoran and Rui can't play officially because the game is restricted to UK and ROI residents now. Same with the Mirror and Sun. Although they are probably playing by proxy. Darren has retired from FF afaik.
The Game is intended for play only within the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland and is governed by English law. Each entrant must ensure that his or her participation in the Game is lawful in accordance with the laws of the country of which he or she is a citizen and/or resides, and/or happens to be at the time his entry is made. Neither the Promoter nor its servants or agents or the Publisher shall be taken to make any representations, express or implied, as to the lawfulness of any entrant's participation. Void in all U.S. Territories (e.g. Guam and Puerto Rico) and where prohibited by law. Residents of North Dakota, Connecticut, Minnesota, Maryland, Colorado, Montana, Vermont, Louisiana, Arizona, Florida and the province of Quebec may play, but WILL NOT be eligible to win or receive prizes.
If, like TFF, SDT, etc overseas entries were flat-out banned - the first sentence in the above clause would explicitly state that and the remainder would be redundant.

certainly seems to have been down from 7ish when the Bear posted and it was still down at kick off. For the record it's still down. V.annoying when paying for monthlies and the whole comp for those teams may have hinged on changes made tonight.

I tried at 515 - no joy then - was trying from 7 - going to ask for my monthly entry fee back - one seasonal with Fellaini which was going to Cazorla
Worrying times ahead it would seem for the game
