Anyone, know how to change the formation ie. 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 via Substitutions?

Just got this back, in case it's of any help:-

"You cannot change formation using a substitute, you can only change the team formation by making a transfer. You can only bring in one of your substitutes from the subs bench for a player that plays in the same position."
