I need Costa to miraculously heal his hamstring before Tuesday and score a hattrick against Maribor. I need Welbeck to score a hattrick against Anderlecht on Wednesday. I need Sterling to score a hattrick against QPR tomorrow. I need Lampard to score 2 goals against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday. I need Chadli to also score at least 2 goals against Asteras on Thursday.

Am I asking too much?
Yes, i am 2 points ahead of you with Hazard, McGeady, Naismith to your Chadli and 2 injured players. It looks unlikely I will win but has pushed me up the seasonal a bit for now at least.

Weekly Game starting 18th-oct

Post by Fangee »

Sitting pretty in 103rd place about 27 off the lead with 11 players to play midweek.

Anybody else in the hunt ?

I've looked through quite a few teams in the top 100. A shocking amount of manager only seemed to pick players based on the weekend's games and haven't included many players who have 2 fixtures.

A few goals from Remy midweek and an Everton clean sheet would see me right in the hunt I reckon.

I went Distin as well. Recovered from injury and Alcaraz has hardly had a game all season so would arguably be just as rusty. Distin could also have played right back had Coleman not been passed fit.

weekly dream team starting 18th-oct

Post by Fangee »

I'm about 25 points off top spot (103rd place) with 11 players to play midweek.

I've looked at a lot of the teams in the top 100 and there are not many who have picked players who will be playing midweek.

So from what I can see 25 points might be doable.

Any thoughts as got why so many managers ignored midweek fixtures ?

Are u suffering from Delusions of Grizzler?

Half the teams above you have more than 6 to play

Around 2/5ths of the teams above you have 7 0r more to play

Around 1/5th of the teams above you have 8 or more to play

5 of the teams above you have 10 to play and each contain an everton back 5

All the teams above you have more points already :?

Not to mention Liverpool have two games to play Abd one poster has already stated he has AGUERO and Wellbeck with a liverpool 9 so he in effect has 20 TO PLAY with 38 pts.
Not to mention probably hundreds of others in the same scenario.

And lastly was there and need to start a new thread on this when u had already mentioned it?

I dont think anyone/many ignored the midweek fixtures.

They just went Chelsea and Man City heavy and didnt expect Chelsea to concede. Moreover Everton kept a clean sheet with 2 of their back 4 notching the goals.

You also have to keep in mind that there may still be players with Liverpool blocks to come into equation today.

If you in 103 position with 11 players to play midweek, I take it that you have Everton block. there are at least 5 in top 50 with Everton block but most with 2-3 Southampton players.

The current leader with SOT block may still have the last laugh if all midweek playing teams concede. He does have 4 players playing midweek though.

Probably yeah but Liverpools record against Madrid is ACTUALLY very good.
Infact last time they met I believe it was 4-0.

If they do record a handsome win today :? and get something from Wednesday -and that doesn't mean they require a clean sheet against Madrid m then it's quite feasible.

The reality is probably a team managed by the Emperors New Clothes who believes he has swallowed the blarney- stone, will in all likliehood score draw against QPR and concede heavily against Bale & Co, so you might well be right.

BUT

what I am right about is that Fangee team won't even be in the top 500 come the end of Thursday,so I don't know what he is banging on about.

Ur Another with Grizzler delusions :?

What was you said oh yeah you would of won it if you had picked Keane to get you another 28 points.

Don't you think the 25 above you probably thought the same thing IF IF IF, they had only picked one player different, not to mention the teams below you.

My initial comment last week was on Grizzler thinking he had a decent team when in 634th position or whatever and had aspirations to still be in with a chance  which I dissed.
He eventually didn't finish in the top 1000 as I predicted correctly there would be hundreds in front of him. I ain't Nostrodamus either Incase ur wondering.

I said later in the thread Mind The Gap looked nailed on as he about 9 to play before the last couple of days and still holding 9 players, think he finished in the top 5 eventually.

:?

There seems to be at least 40,000 or probably more playing this weekly game ( not the eff 11,000 the Sun wud have one believe yesterday) and I'm still staggered to see unless you have nigh on the perfect team u ain't gonna win it.

I can't believe 4/5ths of the current season leaderboard still maintain a cracking team every week when they only have 1 or up to 5 stabs.
There has to be a point when they have a mare and a lowly striker bags a decent score.

Does that involve the use of baby oil ?

I reckon I will finish top 500 though. Would be disappointed if I didn't finish top 50. Already have a 45th place finish from a previous week

I went fishing on Friday and caught several carp to 12lb and a lot of Bream to 5lb :? I'm obviously a better Fisherman than you.

Your obviously still fishing in the wrong spot. If you move ,you might find what my best score is without me professing to believe it has any chance. Unlike what the point is here that I am making....

Nice going in the overall but with a team 7 ahead of yours with Baines, Jagielka, Sterling and Sanchez against your AOC and Welbeck I wouldn't fancy your chances although not impossible. An Everton clean sheet would ruin you but not an easy game for them.
