Elite League | Grand National (£75)

Post by Zimmerman »

FISO Elite Grand National

Anybody entering the Elite League will be entered in to this by default.

£50 Prize to the winner
£25 second place

Thanks to Jeffmcgow and Edmondson for generously matching my £25 prize.

Format
Each game week will represent a fence at Aintree
Depending on the fence difficulty and available games that week, a points target will be set.
Anyone not making that weekly target will be deemed a faller.
The game will be played over the 36 game weeks of the season.
30 fences then a six week sprint down the final straight.
Any managers that have made it over the 30 jumps will sprint for the finish line;
- the remaining horses then have their scores set to zero and its their cumulative totals over those final game weeks that will determine the winner
The finish line will be crossed with the final game of the Premier League season (on the 13th May).

Game weeks take in to account the planned fixture dates (Sat - Fri).
In the event of the game week moving (e.g. starting on a Friday) so will ours.

In the event that no horses manage to finish the course I will donate the prize money to a charity of the final faller's choosing.

In the event of a tie, the manager that was lowest in the Elite League at the start of the final straight will be deemed the winner
e.g. on 6th April, Mad Dog is 68th in the Elite League and Chrisharry is 14th… both finish the grand national with 320 points; Mad Dog wins on the photo finish.

Brilliant idea Zimm. Very imaginative.

And thank you so much for the sponsorship money.

I'll stick £25 sponsorship into the pot myself.

there's two full rounds of prem fixtures that week... so 85 should be achievable.

Im relatively comfortable that the targets aren't too tough (based on previous performance); whats not known, is if JPK's prices prove correct - what sort of lineups are achievable (and therefore scoring potential).

Really like this idea, nice and steady with a strong finish.

Put me down for £25 sponsorship towards the gallant 2nd place horse. Always one that leads it out and gets done well inside final furlong.

Starting off firm in August, moving to soft in February and perhaps good in May (although with the British weather I wouldn't rule out heavy) :)

Yes, I'm loving this idea of Zimm's as well, I'm really rooting for it to work. I just hope that the weather is kind in February and we don't get any mass postponements. Hey, but then if we all fall at the same fence someone's favourite charity will get the cash (says Jeff looking at his BIADS pen!)

I think we may all need an auto mulligan, or else nobody will make it around. Let everyone off with one bad week.

I had contemplated a rule whereby if 50 or 65% of horses fell in the same week we'd allow a carry on.

I might run a mulligan system in the background (have it in reserve in case it goes belly up too soon).

Yes, and to stay on the racing theme call it a remount (although I believe we'd need to turn the clocks back 10 years to allow this).

Or allow everyone 1 remount but it costs £5 to do so.

Up to them if they go raving after there horse or just let it trot back to the stable

It's looking like 2 or 3 Liverpool players might get us close to clearing the first fence.

Quite appropriate really with us racing at Aintree :)

That first fence is looking massive at the moment for a lot of Elite members.

Could see quarter of the field crash at the first fence.
