< < FISO 2019 League > >
Please roll up and get ready to enter the FISO 2019 League.
It will run just like the FISO 2016 League and FISO 2017 League and FISO 2018 League as follows:
- We all start with identical teams (see below)
- NO transfers til new year's day
- Simple race to the flag with 40 transfers during 2019
- Teams must be in the superleague by first kick off
- Teams set to public initially so we can check for mistakes/cheating
- Teams can be set to private from Jan 1st
So you just set and leave (ultra tortoise) then come January 1st we are all level and start to burn those transfers (ultra hare) as and when we choose.
2019 is a long way away but this doesn't require much effort now and will give you some new focus as your season long teams hit the inevitable buffers.

Re: < < FISO 2019 League > >
Some chat on team -
morganb:
So, are we happy with this template team? - Douglas gone, Schlupp in. No spare budget. Some players might be missing for the first week or two but we're in it for the long game...
3.7 Alisson
3.7 Trippier
3 Ward (Burnley)
2.9 Schlupp
4.3 Alonso
6 Salah
4.9 Sane
4.7 Mkhitaryan
3.2 Jota
7 Kane
6.6 Aubameyang
50.0
If so, who is going to set up the league?
If not, who should be changed?
murf - I've not had a chance to look at the team properly but I'm a bit worried about the defence. Not overly important but shall we go with it?? I'd look at DDG in and move the Liverpool coverage to Robertson - but dod we want to lose Alonso and/or Trippier, solid enough new year picks. Not much Manc coverage....
Spinynorman - I'm okay with the defence all barring Trippier, Schlupp, Ward and Alonso.
I would suggest swapping Alonso for Smalling or Mendy and swapping Schlupp for a safer Palace type.
Is Sane a good bet now? How about Bernard Silva (still dodgy) or Zaha?
More than willing to go with the flow though.
(note if we can avoid United and Leicester then the team/league entry deadline can shift to saturday)

Re: < < FISO 2019 League > >
I guess we need a team where the majority of players will still be first choice come 2019. The basis of the team I put up was around the most picked TFF players coupled with covering the big teams.
Based on this criteria we could look to change Schlupp and Mkhitaryan as they are not in the top 10 most picked - no idea who to though?
I thought Trippier and Alonso were OK picks, and what's the potential problem with Sane? Also I thought Zaha was angling for a move so would he be as good a pick as if he stayed at Palace? Richarlison or Sessignon are popular and cheap.
Happy to avoid Man Utd and Leicester players.

If SWard is a safe pick (is he?) then we may as well just change the dodgier Schlupp and Mkhi. Coady at Wolves? Can't afford KdB without something else done too but he is as solid a pick as there is!

Sounds fair enough.
The Sane conundrum is about Peps comments about his fitness, his lack of game time during pre-season despite not playing in the world cup and he looked pants in the charity shield. He was in all of my teams initially but I am now concerned. City also have one or two okay midfielders knocking about.

2.9 Schlupp Coady (2.4, saves 0.5)
4.3 Alonso Azpi???? (4.4)
6 Salah
4.9 Sane KdB (5.9, costs 1.0)
4.7 Mkhitaryan anyone up to 4.2, may I suggest Milivojevic (3.9, can also mean an Alonso Azpi tweak) or Richarlison or Sessegnon
3.2 Jota
7 Kane
6.6 Aubameyang

Richarlison could be a good call. He should be fitter this time around but even if he can't play after his Christmas celebrations again that will be fine by us.

Given that Man C and Liverpool are going to score more than anyone else, why have 2 players from a side competing for 4th/5th/6th/ worse?

Can't afford the whole Liverpool attack and Citeh rotate too much Good to have a balanced team too as sets up up for 2019 whatever happens. You never know, even Chelsea might be up there.....
Any suggestions to tweak the team??

Would be nice to have Aguero but he is just to risky if you can't replace him until next year. KDB and possibly Sterling must be the safest City bets.

Aguero should be in everyone's team but is he safe in a team that you can't change until next year?

Aguero probably one to avoid in this because he’ll be rotated with Jesus and he’s guaranteed to get injured at some stage.
Better to have a forward who’ll play every week barring injury. Aubameyang, Kane and Lukaku fit the bill.

And I’ll enter but I’m going to have to buy a few more teams. I’ve run out.
Will sort in the morning.

You know that Man C will be top come January, you know that they'll have scored 50+ goals, you know that he will be involved in a great many of them and if he isn't, all entrants are in the same boat.Spinynorman wrote: ↑06 Aug 2018, 22:21

Re: < < FISO 2019 League > >
Interesting/dull fact:
Man City didn't have the top scoring TFF player in any of the 4 positions last season.
Aguero/Jesus is too risky a call for this team and that midfield is ridiculously overcrowded with talent so I'm happy to stretch to just KdB.
Not that it matters too much as we are all in the same boat, just good for it to still be floating at xmas...

I guess I am going to have to go all dictatorial and set the team as time is running out.
First time I'm on online tomorrow (noon onwards?) I'll make the call so shout now with comments / suggestions.
My last team above with Richarlison and Azpilucueta?????

I'm all for Richarlison but I'm not sure how tight Chelsea will be as they seem to be messing about a bit at the back. Having said that Azpilucueta will certainly be in the team and I don't think the extra for Alonso is worth it if they are doing a back four.
Having said all of this I'm happy to go with whatever and I promise not to whinge.
