Block League - Year 9

Post by thebillfella »

Back for another season. Still needing one or possibly two more managers to join the league - post your interest here and we will advise if a space is available.

LEAGUE RULES (as previous seasons)

1. Each team must have the goalkeeper & defenders from their selected team only.

2. All formations are allowed, so you may select just 3 defenders from your specified team

3. League name and pin as follows:
FISO Block League
League PIN 8096222
Passcode 1819

4. Your adopted club must be part of the Team name.

5. Penalty's for Illegal players:

A. A player transfers in real life from Your adopted block to another block in the premiership: penalty = points scored by player whilst still in your team plus effective ten man team.
B. A player transfers in real life from your adopted block to a championship / European team: = no penalty just a ten man team.
C. A player is transferred by error/deliberately into the team in this game but plays for a different block: penalty = 10 points per game played plus points scored by player.
D. A player is transferred into the team in this game but plays for a different block but is noticed/transferred out before playing: penalty = no point penalty just a wasted transfer.
E. A very cheap player is put in to enable higher outfield players i.e. a 1.6 goalie in a Chelsea defence = disqualification.

Please shout now if anyone thinks these penalty's are wrong or I've missed something and they can be amended before we start.

6. Selection will be based on last season's final positions, so Spinynorman as champion will choose first then PM the next person on the list who will then choose and pm the next person etc. As you can already see, he hasn't shown any loyalty to the block that helped him last year!

6. It may be required to show a screen shot from the my stats/performance page to prove team legality (the winner should do this season end)

7. Your team must be made public before the first Premier League kick-off at 20:00 on Friday, August 10, 2018.

This comp is only for fun with just the pride of winning (unless someone wants to donate a trophy).

(If a TFF Super League prize is won, this will be shared equally between the top five places at the end of the season)

Last season's league final standing and thus initial block selection order is as follows (if you can copy and paste to confirm your block selection and pm the next person when complete please):

1 Chris Beasley in [Spinynorman] - Manchester United
2 Andrew Stevens In [Robot] - Liverpool
3 George McCulloch in [bigbaddod] -
4 Kevin Wright in [nffc] -
5 Andy Waring in [Mintman] -
6 Peter Clinch in [Zipnolan] -
7 Paul Branigan in [Topspur] -
8 David Rhodes in [Wiseowl65] -
9 Mike Rice in [Workie-Ticket] -
10 Jason Murfitt in [Murf] -
11 Tony H. in [hayesag] -
12 Paul Stringer in [Maldini] -
13 Geoff Vickers in [Geoffv] -
14 14 James Anderson-Gordon in [jagduracell] -
15 David England in [Mystery] -
16 Bill Wilkins in [thebillfella] -
17 Mark Hammond in [Wizardoffire] -
18 sibrown4 in [sibrown4] -
19 morganb in [morganb] -
20 Bill Ferny in[Bill Ferny] -

bigbaddod to continue when free...

I am away on a stag do today for the weekend so not going to be in a fit enough state to post anything after this morning. :? I have been hoping to be able to pick before I go but bigbaddod must be away too so i will give my 1st and 2nd choice pick for after he returns.

I was struggling to decide between about 5 teams anyway but...
1st Choice = Arsenal ( no i am not drunk already  )
2nd Choice = Man City

Cheers

Beat me to it robot. I know there’s still a couple of weeks to go but I like to get all these novelty teams picked and out of the way so I can concentrate on my main teams in the run up to the season kick off.

Maybe PM him again and give him another 48 hours?

My novelty teams have an annoying habit of outperforming my main teams.

I wanted Wolves as well. Didn't expect to get them though with 12th pick. :?

And yes, you should have played better last season Bill.

Thread title needs altering with Bill Ferny taking the last spot (unless there's a no show from Jag).

Going to go for Burnley hoping they can replicate last seasons defensive points,i did have a play with Chelsea and City but far to much uncertainty over defensive rotation along with a budget that gets really tight after two premium forwards and Salah so will leave these two for someone else to tackle.
