Tiny league season 9 - Latic wins!!

Post by Mystery »

They said it wouldn't last. They said that it would fade away. Maybe my wife hoped that it did but no the Tiny League is being dragged back kicking and screaming into an ninth season of tiny fun! The Tiny League is a side game that is based on the Telegraph Fantasy Football game whereby teams may only contain "non-big six" players.

To Enter
To enter you must enter an official TFF team dedicated to this competition.
Only one team per person please.
League details will be sent to entrants by PM so please express an interest in this thread. When the league has been set up I'll let you know. Past league members may receive a notification direct from TFF when I do set it up.

All teams must be in the league AND COMPLIANT WITH ALL RULES BY 23:59 FRIDAY 12th August 2016. This is the SUBMISSION DEADLINE. Any team found to be illegal at the submission deadline is liable to be instantly expelled from the competition so please check carefully.
After the initial deadline the competition will be closed to new entries – sorry.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A CASH LEAGUE. It’s for fun and humiliation only.
Entering a team into this league signifies a total acceptance of the rules.
The chairman (Mystery) reserves the right to refuse entry into this game.

Your team at the start has to have:
1. No "big 6" players in your team (i.e. no Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur players). I considered adding Leicester to the list but for this season they're available to you.
2. No more than one player per club (the club quota is one) For example if Seamus Coleman (EVE) is selected you are not allowed to select Leighton Baines (EVE).
3. A team value of £38.5m or less.
4. All formations allowed in the TFF game will be permitted at all times

FAILURE TO MEET THE ABOVE CRITERIA WILL RESULT IN INSTANT TEAM EXPULSION AT THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE.

Transfers
Transfers are permitted at any time as long as the main TFF game allows then. However, the budget limit will remain in place until the beginning of game week 5 (i.e. Tuesday 6th September)
On that later date the budget limit will be abolished and the club quota will be increased to two players per team. For example you will be allowed to select Coleman & Baines. The two players per club rule will be in force until the end of the season.
Declaring your transfers (Egg Cup style) is optional but it adds to the fun and the banter if you post your thoughts.

Player transfers, the "big six" and quotas
If a non-big six player is transferred to a big six club then immediately he will be ineligible to score any points.
If a transfer occurs that means a team then has more than a club’s quota of players, again the transferred player will also be ineligible to score points.
While there is no further penalty for this happening it is obviously in the manager’s interest to make the changes ASAP!
I will be policing this carefully this season assuming the Telegraph don't tinker too much with their web site!

Should ( Image ) this league win the league of leagues then the fund will be divided as Admin has outlined for the TFF FISO league.

Policing
Your team MUST BE marked as public by 23:59 Thursday 11th August so the Chairman (Mystery) may verify teams. The Chairman will regularly check that teams are “legit”....although feel free to be a grass Image
The manager is responsible for keeping their team within the rules. The restrictions on managers have been kept low deliberately.
If managers flaunt the rules then they will be made to list out the ten greatest managerial performances of Mark Hughes and told to behave themselves....or in extreme cases thrown out!

Side comps of the side comp
There may be various side games run for fun throughout the season. All to be advised later in the season.

Keep the entries coming. The budget will be determined towards the end of the week (i.e. after I've actually looked at the player list at any depth)

Re: Tiny league season 9 - The champions arrive - budget 38.5m

Post by Mystery »

Greetings tiny-folk

It's the most eagerly anticipated fantasy announcement of the season so far, apart from the player list. And the costs of entry, the number of transfers, the revised number of transfers and the Egg Cup starting team.

Well, it's certainly in the top ten or so most anticipated fantasy announcements of the season so far, but at long last I can confirm the budget for Tiny League season 9 starting teams. It will be £38.5m - one player per club as per the rules.

I had to think quite carefully about this one. Last year my starting point was a valid team around 39 million, and applying similar techniques gave me a starting point of 45 million and there was no way you lot were getting that much to play with - I guess there were a few strong picks (Vardy and Payet) who are actually quite expensive. However, I've also come up with a team well down in the low 30s so I know it's possible. Not desirable maybe, but that's what you have transfers for isn't it.....

So £38.5million it is, I will be setting up a league over the weekend. Everyone posting here in the meantime will get a PM with the league codes on as will anyone else expressing an interest.

Get picking tinys!!

as I'm a newbie to this do we get to use the 40 transfers as long as we don't exceed the budget and don't have more than one player from any team?

Sutton you need to read the first post in detail its simpler than is sounds but the rules are different up until the first int break.
And while your here a plug ,pop over to the super six league which sort of runs alongside this with the other 6 teams.

38.5m is definitely a proper challenge harder than i first thought with one player per team managed it though just hope they all start.

Tiny league season 9 - The champions arrive - budget 38.5m

That was very tough.

I've had to sacrifice Payet until the budget restriction is lifted.
