Re: Tiny league season 9 - Transfer frenzy as budget relaxed
OK here's this week's scores. The outbreak of a nasty disease known as "Saint Blindness" has captured another victim with sibrown4 (losing points for Fonte) being joined now by Zebraman (van Dijk). Those third Saints in the teams will not accrue points until they are back to two players per team max.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Transfer frenzy as budget relaxed
The Tiny FA is proud to announce the return of everyone's favourite side-game based side game, the Tiny World Cup.
The game is based on goals. And that's it. Everyone will start the game "in" and trying to score a goal. Just the one will do. Or to be more specific hoping your particular band of tinies can score a goal which puts you through to the next round. The game is played in more-or-less real time so if you've got players in an early kick off you'll have the chance to get through while those with interest in later kick-offs are clutching at tiny straws. The last team to score a goal is out, and then we move on to the next round and so on until we have one team left who will be Tiny World Cup Champions.
OK on to the detailed rules for this kick about.
Your team is fixed for the whole weekend for the purposes of this game, but you may continue to make transfers as normal. For a normal gameweek I will take a snapshot of everyone's teams sometime between 6pm Friday and first kickoff time. I will try and do it as near to kick off time as I can manage. That will then be your World Cup team for the whole set of games, irrespective of later changes.
Then when games are in play as soon as one player on your team scores you are through to the next round. Goal times will be taken to be the published kick off time plus the official Press Association (or another equally official source) goal time, including any "+n" minutes for injury time goals, plus 15 minutes for second half goals. Example: for a 3 pm k.o. with a goal scored at an official time of 90+4 minutes I will record the goal time as 4:49pm, following 94 mins of game time plus 15 mins for half time.
When one team remains without a goal, they are Out and we start the next round with everyone else - the timing of that next round will be determined by circumstances. Ordinarily we'll wait until the start of the next game set, even if in the same game week. If the elimination happens very early in the game set, eg an early kick off, then at my sole determination we may continue play immediately, in a new round with the remaining in-teams still with the same frozen line-ups.
Where the only remaining In-teams all score together the goal will be ignored and play continues with those teams. In the event remaining teams are so similar as to be unlikely to be separated Mystery, as league dictator / chairman, reserves the right to eliminate all remaining teams, after having warned in thread of the possible penalty.
I have no doubt not thought of everything here so I reserve the right to amend the rules to make the game reasonable / practical to administer, or to clarify any point.
Any team not complying wholly with the overriding Tiny League rules cannot have a goal counted even if by a legitimate player.
The World Cup starts with round 1 this weekend.
Get shooting Tinies!

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Zebraman, your transfer in of Philips has given you three West Brom players. Philips won't count unless you remove him - and you also won't be eligible for Tiny World Cup goals unless he comes out before I take a league snapshot in the morning.

Great competition, and thanks for organising! Surely it's time that the Tiny World Cup was expanded to allow more teams in though?Mystery wrote:The Tiny FA is proud to announce the return of everyone's favourite side-game based side game, the Tiny World Cup.

Haha well sadly it's going to need to be delayed. My enthusiasm to let Zebraman sort his team out meant I delayed doing a snapshot and it hasn't worked this morning.workie-ticket wrote:Great competition, and thanks for organising! Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
A couple of observations.
Some teams (including mine) are not legit due to Snodgrass' transfer to West Ham. Just as well West Ham weren't playing this weekend. I will sort by Tuesday.
Only three tiny teams are left in the FA cup . Burnley, Middlesborough & Leicester (subject to a replay)

Re: RE: Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
I was expecting some Snodgrass carnage but hadn't seen any as of Friday - but that may be because the TFF site hadn't had an update. I wasn't really worried without them playing but definitely a good shout and something for us to watch for.Latic wrote:A couple of observations.

Re: RE: Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Sadly there are hardly any more goals of tiny relevance and certainly none for us two so robfeltham and I are out!Mystery wrote:World Cup round 1 has advanced quickly. Just 2 players still on the pitch - Mystery and robfeltham. Any Snodgrass and Lukaku goal won't count
Everyone else begins round 2 with the midweek games.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
A Tiny World Cup snapshot has just been taken.
This showed that TinySE and Tiny Jesters each have three West Ham players. Snodgrass will not count for either until the WHM contingent is reduced. As a concession for this round only, due to transfer activity only Snodgrass won't count for Tiny World Cup purposes - rather than all of that manager's squad.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Tonight's relevant Tiny goals were opened by Deeney, Negredo and Dann. The goal for Sigurdsson did not count because absolutely every other manager had him (except the two of us that were eliminated last week weirdly). Benteke scored late on to send 5 more through to round 3.
So, round 2 will continue to tomorrow with the dude abides, SE, Zebraman and Mintman still on the pitch looking for a goal.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
The dude abides had Andy Carroll which was enough to send him through to round 3 while the others all had three goal scorers but because they couldn't be separated they are all out. Thank you SE, Zebraman and Mintman and good night.

Some great scores this week especially the tons (no mean feat with tinies involved)
Mystery, could you please post a list of who is still in the Tiny World Cup as I am not sure if I am still in it and would like some silverware considering my dreadful league position.
