Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Tiny World Cup round 3 began last week. If we ignore the goal scorers that no one had that leaves us with only Chadli, Lanzini and McAuley.
Maureen Midgets were first through shortly followed by Latic and camelot70. McAuley sent through Thebillfella, Tenpinterry, wiseowl65, nffc, Topspur, workie ticket and CrazyGeorge.
Everyone else still in will need a goal this weekend, which might be a tad challenging for an FA Cup week.
Normal league update is below. SE continues to be penalised for 3 West Ham players - he loses Snodgrass's 8 this week.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Last night saw another Tiny World Cup elimination as Streety finally got caught out.
I was surprised that Dawson's goal didn't have any takers but McAuley's did with Thebillfella, Tenpinterry, wiseowl65, nffc, Topspur, workie ticket and CrazyGeorge all going through to round 5. Soon after PVA sent Latic through. Maureen's Midgets went through due to Keane.
Lukaku's goal made no difference so we went to the evening game which saw Troy Deeney send Camelot70 through leaving Streety alone on the pitch and out.
Ten continue in round 5 which begins next weekend.

Four already through in round 5 of the Tiny World Cup. Goals for King, Deeney and Llorente have sent through Maureen, Camelot70, nffc and wiseowl65.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Topspur and CrazyGeorge each got one goal but it was the same one from Lukaku so it is disregarded. Therefore they continue onto a second, and final week, for round 5 of the Tiny World Cup. First unique goal sees them advance to round 6. Because there's only a single game tomorrow there will be no snapshot. Any transfers made up to kick off time count. Should we continue through to the weekend a snapshot will be taken in the normal way.

Re: RE: Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Tiny World Cup round 6 saw eight players still on the pitch all looking for a single goal to move on
- Thebillfella, Tenpinterry, Latic, wiseowl65, nffc, workie ticket, camelot70, camelot/maureen
No action came in the early kick-off so the first goal came with Mahrez scoring early for Leicester sending through Thebillfella, Latic, wiseowl65 and nffc. Another one of the popular choices came up next with Lanzini scoring putting workie-ticket and camelot70 into round 7. The decisive goal came again in the Leicester match a little before half time on Saturday afternoon with Jamie Vardy putting tenpinterry through. Maureen is out leaving the other seven to contend round 7.

Jamie Vardy's was the only relevant goal at the weekend sending tenpinterry, Latic and nffc through. Round 7 continues this week and I'll try and take a snapshot around 6pm.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Tiny World Cup round 8 started with thebillfella, Tenpinterry, Latic, nffc, workie-ticket and camelot70 and it only took two goals to separate them all. King scored sending Latic through followed by Lukaku sending camelot70 out who didn't have him, while the other four on the pitch did. Five go on to round 9 this weekend.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
This week's league table will follow, probably tomorrow morning or maybe late tonight, but for the time being I can confirm that Tiny World Cup round 9 continues into a second week. Arnoutovic scored for Thebillfella and Capoue for Tenpinterry. There were also goals for Vardy and Lukaku but as everyone had him they don't count. Round 9 must end after this week so anyone without a relevant goal will be out. I'll take a snapshot of teams late tonight or in the morning.

Round 10 of the Tiny World Cup lasted all of about 94 minutes, with Ryan Bertrand's goal counting for both Latic and Tenpinterry sending TheBillFella out. The final will begin on Saturday afternoon with the first unique goal scored crowning a winner.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Despite what might have looked like a tiny number of goals for the World Cup finalists to work with, the first two goals in the net were both by players in one of the teams. King was in both finalists teams but Vardy once again came to the fore. Tenpinterry had him but Latic did not, so Tenpinterry wins the second piece of silverware of the season and will be 2016/7 Tiny World Cup champion.

Re: Tiny league season 9 - Tiny World Cup returns!
Someone mentioned something to me about there being another match this season but if there is it certainly hasn't got any interest for us in Tinyland. After the last few tables I'm sure nobody will be surprised to learn Latic has won in what really has been a hugely dominant performance. The final update is below.
Congrats to Latic once again for a fabulous win in 2016/17 and thank you to everyone who's taken part in this league down the years. It's been a Tiny pleasure.
So with that the Tiny season comes to a close, as does my time running this side game. It has been a real pleasure the past few seasons but all good things must come to an end (cough....Sunderland....cough...) and I hope that someone else will step forward and take this on for the next and many subsequent Tiny seasons. I'll still be around if we play on, but in terms of running games I'm cutting that down to only running the Egg Cup challenge beginning with next season.Congrats to Latic once again for a fabulous win in 2016/17 and thank you to everyone who's taken part in this league down the years. It's been a Tiny pleasure.
