I decided to get going on this team, especially as it was the start of a new month, and had a reasonable weekend burning 4 transfers. I then totally forgot there was a game on on Monday night (was probably going to buy a Newcastle striker anyway so not much lost there!).

Still got one of the best scores and climbed 6 spots (45,000 overall). 16,000th is still rubbish for a hare team, although with just 6 transfers burned now it probably isn't far off average!!

Now, how do I use my 5 this weekend.....

Yes but the question is have you all left it to late? my teams had no man city players but are heavy on the teams playing today, will be interesting to see where we are tonight.

As I was 20th of 24 after 4 weeks having only used 2 transfers then I think the answer is clearly 'yes' in my case!

Up to 4th since I started paying attention.

Yes certainly closer than it looked a few weeks ago, I take it you have 5 transfers left at least so to give you an idea of what your up against my 11 all play on Saturday none are injured/ suspended and defence is Ars heavy (Zero Transfers).

Well it's all over with an uneventful last day, winning team finishes in 26th, Topspur the only real challenger due to murf and thebillfella forgetting  although still in with a small chance of 2nd place, not sure what happenned to the rest of you :?: thought there would be more of us up in the top 100 by now.
Keep it going to decide all the finishing places.

league of leagues 5th

Ideas/thoughts moving forward.

Make it 750 or 1000? to make it more tactical than just using the transfers up straight away.

Only 1 team? unlimited teams? 3 teams?

Team entry deadline before first kick off or pick best team/teams before end of first weekend?

Congratulations Robot :D

You've won and I've got 11 transfers to play. Definitely need to forget less next year.

EDIT - We did better (positionally) last season:
1 Paul Branigan Out Of The Blocks 516 54 32 3
2 Jason Murfitt Murf's Mob H 500 54 29 16

Shouldn't we have done better with 36 transfers rather than 30??

- Keep it 500
- I only play 1 team and wish others did too but not my game to call it
- First kick off, nominated team(s) only

Just need to publicise it more. Hopefully my life won't be as hectic next year so I'll give it more thought. Should be a great little comp.

I think the reason we haven't done so well is that last year didn't start off with the succesive clean sheets that liv/mc/mu got this year and the players in this league didn't seem to be on that train, combined with a few players sandor etc entering vast numbers of teams at the monthly.
The extra transfers also meant than you could play august and september monthlys with the same team so players including myself kept going.
without looking at the date i think i reached 500 much earlier this year and as my top team is now over 600 it shows many more teams are further ahead even allowing for the 7 point defenders.

Regarding the rules I agree we should go to a more black and white 1 team and enter before first kick off.

The reasoning behind more teams and the monday night deadline is that part of the purpose of the game was to get fiso up there and give as much opportunity to make a good start as possible in hindsight it hasnt really worked and has become slightly disjointed.

Unless many others feel different then will return next year with 1 team only and may do a euro first to 250 game.

Congrats Robot.

Poor showing from me. Unfortunately September/October always seems to be busy and as a result my TFF suffers.

I think the format is fine. I just need to try harder.

Well done Robot. The format is fine; I just didn't pay attention quite frankly. However, with plenty of transfers still in the bank I'm happy to see who can get to 1000 first as well!

As it stands going into the weekend to decide 2nd/3rd/4th. Or 1st of the 1 team only players.
