CHAMPIONSHIP INJURIES THREAD

Post by bluelionman »

Can we not have a dedicated page to Championship Injuries and Suspensions like FISO has for the Premiership - and for League 1 & 2 to aid those playing those games to?

I myself made the mistake of selecting J. Beatie of Sheffield United and since found out after he did not play first game he had knee surgery in the off season. If there had been a thread I may have known this before I selected him. :oops:

So now what I need to know as I kept him is when is he likely to be back - do I fire him out my team or hold off as he's due back any day?

I really need this knowledge as I have used no transfers but in 2 weeks of games have 3 players not played for me. :twisted:

So unless a thread gets made - please folks post CHAMPIONSHIP player injury and suspension news here please.

Oh and any current news on James Beatie most welcome. Thanx.

The Beattie injury was noted in the team news thread for last week, it also noted the manager had said 3-4 weeks for him. This was the day before the season started, so I guess that means he'll only miss one or two more games.

All in the team news thread from that week.

tbh, that's usually where you first hear about injuries without trawling through each clubs websites (and even that's not particularly helpful sometimes) unless it's a season ender or long term one to a sides key player.

With Duberry out, Murty out until atleast next week and Sonko suspended. What will there backline be against Palace? Hunt at LB again I presume? Not looking great for them at the moment defensively.

Struggling to actually find this as fact, but I think that Sonko served his suspension for the Carling Cup game in the week. His sending off was two yellows so only a one match ban.

That would make sense, but 1 match ban seems nothing for CCC considering there are midweek games often, aswell as Carling Cup and FA Cup mixed in. Thanks for that Jon, doesn't affect my team in any way.. just seems Reading getting injuries, suspensions and the likes galore.

Add this while I'm on the thread;
Therry Racon (Charlton) is likely to be out for 6-8 weeks with a broken metatarsal.

Sonko gone to Stoke! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 587931.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I wouldn't be counting on many Reading clean sheets in the near future..

:o

Just can't take a one match ban, or does he still get it? Not sure why Stoke would want him tbh, maybe to put on later in the game to score a few goals. ;)

Just read about Sonko. I signed him last week. He scores. He gets sent off. He signs for Stoke! :lol: I really suck at this version of the game!

Think me and the little 4.5 hold the title for sucking at TFF Championship. I had 11 players play today, and scored a huge 6pts. That makes -16 after all the Starting XI pts. How on earth was that possible?

Could of been worse bringing in Ledesma who got sent off today, where as 4.5, did bring him in. :P

Serves him effing right. :wink: :twisted: (for the is there a mcdonalds in preston - as i'm lovin' it after a certain goal against us)

From Boothroyds weekly Watford update

Both Tamas [Priskin] and Lloyd [Doyley] limped off last night with hamstring strains, which added to the injuries to Grzegorz and Mat Sadler makes for a fairly busy time for Andy and his team – and that’s not to mention two or three of the younger boys with knocks.

In Lloyd and Tamas’ case that’ll mean a month apiece which is something we can do without, but that’s the nature of football and we live with it.

Stuart Parnaby will miss Birmingham's home clash against Blackpool after a scan highlighted ligament damage to an ankle.

The right-back sustained the injury during Tuesday night's 2-1 victory at Bristol City and now faces around two weeks on the sidelines

Believe Mart Poom out long term for watford - needs his shoulder pinned, he's 36 as well, not a lot of hope we'll see him again soon.

Not an injury, but as the result of many other injuries.

Watford have signed Reading centre-half Sam Sodje on a month's loan to ease their injury crisis at the back.

Stephen Kelly misses out with a thigh injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for up to a month. However right back Stuart Parnaby has recovered from an ankle injury and will return in place of Kelly.

Damien Francis retires, shame good player and cost Watford £1.5m for 44 starts = £35k a start - not something a championship club can afford :cry:

From Aidy's weekly email:
The likes of Grzegorz Rasiak, Lloyd Doyley, John Eustace and the like(??) are all getting that little bit closer to a resumption of duties for us although they’ll all be touch and go over the next few games as to whether they make it. That is something we’ll look at on a day-to-day basis.

How long does injured pride take to heal?

Can't wait to see the reception he gets from the Coventry fans :lol:

On a slightly more useful note, Kightly seems set to play at the weekend.

Yeah, was thinking of bringing him in, but will hold off for now. That's the sort of thing that can shatter a man's confidence.
