Re:FISO tff championship champs or chumps 17/18

Post by theo29 »

all will shortly be revealed ! Is it likely that FISO could raise 24 players (one for each team) to mirror events as they happen. It is worthwhile to float a league (even without the monetary prospects) just for the fun of it. Discuss !

copied from post by robot further on in the thread:

With TFF introducing a championship version of the Game Theo29 has asked me to set up a thread for his league.

1.The league will consist of 24 players.
2.Each player will play the game as per the TFF rules.
3.Teams must be entered by 19.45 on the 4th of August.
4.Each team name will be that of the team supported by the player (or an adopted team if all 24 do not come forward) no nicknames.
5.An entry fee OF £5 will be payable to TFF Directly, and the winnings distributed BY tff 75% to the winner 25% to 2nd place.
6.Theo will sponsor up to 5 weekly winners at £20 each winner (weeks to be decided).

I can vouch for theo29 in that he has paid me and others his voluntary prizes before but as with any side league involving money please read the forum guidelines:
viewtopic.php?f=106&t=108147#p2710800.

Should this league win the league of leagues the top 5 managers will split the prize 5 ways.

14.7 League of Leagues: £250 will be awarded at the end of the Competition to the Chairman whose Private League is placed at the top of the League of Leagues. This is the Chairman whose Private League has amassed the highest average number of points (based on the top five managers in that Private League) in the Competition by the end of the final Event on Monday, May 28, 2018. The Chairman of the Private League that finishes second in the League Of Leagues will win £100. The Chairman of the Private League that finishes third in the League Of Leagues will win £50. In the event of a tie, the prizes will be divided equally between the tied Private Leagues. To be eligible for a prize in the League of Leagues a Private League must include at least five Managers that have purchased a Season Ticket and submitted their teams by 23:59 (BST) on Monday, October 9, 2017. A Chairman can only win a maximum of one prize within the League of Leagues, regardless of the number of valid Private Leagues under their control.

I'd have a go for a bit of fun if your just suggesting a simple side league with no money and everyone picks a team as their team name.

If so my "second"  team is no longer in the championship so I'd go for the underdog Burton.

Spoken for to date to join the league when it is launched shortly.

BURTON ALBION. robot. (our brand new Mod ! )
DERBY COUNTY. theo29
LEEDS UNITED. Jimmy Ching
MIDDLESBROUGH dead parrot.
just another 20 needed. It is known that there are fans out there (yea even ST holders) of Brum City Forest Owls Reading QPR.

the only outy.. will be your TFF entry fee, a mere bagatelle if you run a sizeable squad with TFF. The idea is to match your team on here with their actual performance in the Championship this season.

Championship in TFF

Post by Maldini »

Quite looking forward to this game. Enjoy watching the championship matches and this gives me a vested interest this season as my club is now in the Premier League.

Theo, perhaps you should start your own thread if you plan on running a league for this game?

Most people browsing this are probably looking for info on the Championship game in general and not your league.

Just a thought.

I took your initial post to mean we just name the team we enter after a club (generally the one said person supports) then play the game as per tff rules and see who wins.

If your suggesting something else could you clarify as it might help get people signing up.

Like maldini im up for playing to keep an interest in the league now that brighton are up.

I wondered what that meant too :? I'm up for being the Forest representative, but I certainly won't be aiming to match their actual performances. I'll be setting my sights considerably higher than that......

exactly as you say robot. Match a team in the Championship with your own TFF entry. New thread will appear shortly. Teams already spoken for are. BURTON DERBY LEEDS FULHAM MIDDLESBROUGH & FOREST.

Once all 24 teams have a backer (which means of course that you will have to send a modest sum to Tele Towers) I will consider a prize structure running through the season.

Make your choice now !

Did you invent the phrase 'Brexit means brexit"? :?
Still not clear what you mean. :?
If all you mean (as Robot says) is just name your team after a championship team, perhaps you could actually say that and it would become clearer? Saying 'match' your team is still ambiguous. Could mean matching points or players or style or even, if you stretch the meaning of 'match', to having the same name and nothing more :)

I have had some pms with theo, outcome i will create a new thread tonight(to busy now)with more clarity, but basically a straightforward league.

He is going to sponsor some prizes on top of whatever entrance fee we choose, so worth playing.

In the mean time if anyone else wants to play pick your championship team before they all go.

I may think a bit more about the thought of adding an option of paying to try and beat your own team in real life ie everyone puts an extra fiver in and those that finish above their real life team win a split of the money(plus my sponsorship) from those that don't. Thoughts?

my thanks to robot for setting out the stall for the new comp. I will have a look after the weekend to see how many have registered their intentions before knowing the full TFF Championship details. morganb quickly off the mark ! With the new season beginning on 4th August there is a week's less time to think about it compared to the Prem.

I have a feeling that auto-select may be the best starting option !

Is there any quirk to the rules that separates this from just being a normal league?

Defensive blocks from chosen club works well in Premier League.
