OFL ISO 2014/15
Welcome to the ISO challenge for season 2014/15, now in it's 5th OFL season.
After a very close contest last year we ended up with 2 managers in the top 10 overall and 2nd place in the Friends and Enemies standings (after the other FISO league again!!!!!).
Introduction to the game.
Following previous chairmen, I have just copied the rules from last year (in fact I've copied everything from last year ). The rules of ISO are quite simple. Every participant starts with the same (agreed) squad line-up, and must make the same (agreed) selection choices over the first weekend of matches. From then onwards, everyone may manage their own team as they like, and by May we will see who has managed their transfers and subs best, and who has won ISO 2014/15!
Teams should be called "ISO <username>" (eg. ISO Marke192), and it is one team per person. Teams should be in the league by the first weekend (although with OFL's facility to see a team's history, exceptions could be made within reason).
Participation
This game is open to any FISO member, whether you're an ex-TFFOer, an OFL regular, both or even neither! Obviously you can still win any of OFL's prizes, but there's no prize for the ISO competition itself, other than honour (and the right to choose next season's starting team). It's all the fun of any entry in OFL, minus the trouble of deciding your starting squad yourself, plus the extra banter and competition provided by the ISO challenge. Get involved!
Squad
By tradition, the starting squad is decided by the previous year's ISO winner and following a process of discussion and debate amongst entrants, criticised and changed until a final 16 is settled on. As the reigning champion I'll aim to have a draft squad set up in the next few days........and I'll set up a mini league.
The squad will finalised about a week before the season starts, so that managers away in the run-up to Week 1 can still set up their team with the correct squad.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
First draft looks promising although wouldn't mind seeing Lallana in for Sigurdsson, having said that Sigurdsson might get a lot more more playing time with Swansea.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
Be careful with Lovren as he's about to change clubs. Everyone needs to have him assigned correctly, so that teams are identical. Team looks good, and the spare cash is nice

Squad looks good! The only worries are indeed Lovren and maybe Coleman. He was injured a couple of days ago but the extend of his injury is unknown..

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
Lovren now a LIV player in the game. People who've already chosen him need to drop him as a SOT player and reselect him as a Liverpool player to get an even playing field.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
Damn I have Lovren as a Southampton player...do I really have to give that up On the team selection...agreed a very strong team....personally though Id take Williamson(new)over Dan...and definately Puncheon over Boruc who Id avoid like the plague with Southampton now looking to make it 8 1st team regulars gone(and counting)...On the forwards I preferred your 1st choice of Aguerro over Rooney, why the change?.....And bet you Toure is going to be this years Bale, with a move away at the last minute meaning we all burn a transfer....me? I always like that 3rd forward

Nice squad Mark, great MF & Strikers. Bit iffy at the back but plenty of room for benching and spare cash to tinker.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
You can change the team name then replace it with an ISO team with the altered Lovren that's what I,ve just doneKeele United wrote:Damn I have Lovren as a Southampton player...do I really have to give that up On the team selection...agreed a very strong team....personally though Id take Williamson(new)over Dan...and definately Puncheon over Boruc who Id avoid like the plague with Southampton now looking to make it 8 1st team regulars gone(and counting)...On the forwards I preferred your 1st choice of Aguerro over Rooney, why the change?.....And bet you Toure is going to be this years Bale, with a move away at the last minute meaning we all burn a transfer....me? I did have Aguero but I think Rooney will be out to impress LVG in the first few matches, you can always replace toure with your converted 3rd striker when the game starts. I wanted a balanced squad of 2x GK, 3x FB, 3x CB, 5 x MF, 2xST as it gives more options to change later in the game and has redundancy in all positions to cover short term injuries.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
Certainly some alternate thinking Marke in your initial XI. With that starting lineup the challenge to win ISO league will be interesting but whether there is a good enough balance to challenge for the top prizes as a few of you have done over the last couple of years i don't know.

Re: OFL ISO 2014/15
Trust in the ISO. We've had overall top 10 finishers the last couple of years, and Mark came an extremely close 2nd. It's all about the transfers; the core of the starting team are solid picks and potential season keepers.

Thank you, marke192!

Not sure about Boruc though...
