Have requested to join!

Looking forward to the KO - good squad and can also foresee a number of early transfers to spice things up depending on the Bale situation. All the best to everyone :D

ISO snout waiting to join. Didn't do too bad in this last year; even got to the Champions League final with the team.

But did nothing and only won a free team!

Snout, I just rejected a team that wasn't named or set up correctly, so it may have been you accidentally entering your other team? Didn't see a request for ISO Snout yet.

Think I may have forgotten to select the team from the drop-down list - tried again.

Can I confirm if we all need to keep the squad intact until after Monday's game?

i.e. no transfers until after the Monday kick-off?

Yes Snout, no transfers until after Monday night's game.

Thanks Skip for getting the starting squad sorted. The Bale Conundrum is an interesting one, and, like last season, when everyone had to make a decision on Dempsey early doors, should see a few different directions taken from the beginning. Hopefully, once again, a couple of teams from this league will be near the top of the leaderboard in due course.

All the best everyone. :)

Rumours on phsyioroom twitter feed that Coleman has done a ligament in his ankle and could be out for some time. :(

Those transfers are going to be burnt to a crisp in August!

Oh - I should not have played Shaw?

Why was that?

Seems a strange choice.

We'll find a solution for this, skip is the boss, he has to make a decision.
Not too harsh, if you ask me. But it's difficult in this game. :?: :?:

I posted the whole line up a few days ago, just to make sure I did everything by the rules.

Agreed! Judge not too harsh in this case. In the previous two seasons you had to play everybody in the first week and you didn't have to bench someone who could play.
So I can imagine the mix-up and it's something that can go wrong in a league with 27 managers. We just have to deduct 5 points from Ashers's score
And now we have someone to aim for!

Ashers, if you e-mail the support team at OFL, explain the situation and ask for the 5 points to be taken off, I imagine they would do it for you.

My bet is that they are normally besieged by e-mails asking for points to be added and it would be a welcome change for someone to ask for points to be removed! :)

I will do that.

Still confused though why we did not want Shaw to play?

What was the reason behind this?

Ashers, skip already posted his explanation about benching Shaw earlier in this thread

The way I plan to use shaw, a cheap defender, is to play the home games and sit the away games. Feel free to do something different after the 1st weekend :)
OK thanks

Good start everyone, and only ashers didn't read the instructions properly ;)

Benching Shaw didn't work out very well, but on another day Soton could have conceded 4 goals (remember West Brom v Liverpool on opening day last year?)

After the City v Newcastle game tonight it's open season on transfers, and don't forget to set your supersubs for the Chelsea Villa game in midweek.

Yes - a good start. Congratulations on the solid squad. But I'm damn pleased that I can swap RVP out for Torres now for the big game on Weds.

I say let Ashers keep his points in the official game, but we all recognize that throughout the year for the purposes of our game he has 5 points less. He made a mistake but it was unintentional.

Wish I'd made that mistake  but I'm sure OFL can deduct the points if explained as to why.

But if Ashers were to miss out on a prize because he'd asked for the deduction...?

valid point,
stays or goes? stays and it sets a precedent for future seasons, but goes seems a bit harsh.
