Nice one, i did look at a couple of players today to get me 20+ pts but didnt think anyone would.

I normally play the percentages and would captain Kane... But Sometimes you have to go a bit left field.

Re: Week 4 Captains
I did bring Kane in for Insurance purposes. (Transfer number 1) and Captained him.itslikebrandnew wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 18:00 Well that was a disaster of a weekend for T1, at least i didnt captain Pogba or that would have been -2 pts , Morrison got me 6pts but Shaw could have got me 12. In total 38pts for the week
T2 got me 58pts.
I suppose i can take a positive out of it that i didnt bring in Kane.
My only other player playing was De Gea. So I'm 5 pts down and 1 transfer down on that move.
The way I see it is that Although I'm 5pts down, I protected myself against a Kane big haul and the De Gea CS will hopefully see an upward move tonight.

Re: Week 4 Captains
It was the right move for you, but just didnt work out. Besides only 1 transfer down is pretty good going.
I've got to work a bit more on my teams, it's alright having all these big hitters but i need a few players that will keep me ticking over on bad weeks.

Only Lukaku brought home decent points for me. Abysmal returns from Salah and Kane.

Top 4000 t1, Top 2000 t2.....only a week or so ago t1 was in the top 800 and t2 was hanging around 38000 so it's a fairly big swing.
The difference with the teams is t1 i went for the big hitters and t2 i have a more balanced side.
This has really given me something to think about with the overhaul.

Those are good positions. I pace myself against some of the top players in a couple of Leagues I am in. I’m around 3700 ish place and Am just behind the winner from two years ago and I am slightly in front of last years winner. I would say there are teams around 400 Pts who have used few transfers. Those near to 500pts will have used a lot of transfers. The Fantasy Football Scout website last week indicated that the top 10 had used 12 transfers on average and the top 100, 8 transfers on average.itslikebrandnew wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 20:54 Top 4000 t1, Top 2000 t2.....only a week or so ago t1 was in the top 800 and t2 was hanging around 38000 so it's a fairly big swing.

Re: Week 4 Captains
I agree. I think the game has changed significantly from 2 seasons ago.
Last year I found it very difficult to move from what I have always felt was the 'template' formation in the sky game (3-4-3) with a cheap defence and 3 big hitters up front.
This year again I have started with Kane, Aggro, and Salah up top. Fairly happy with my start (apart from a pretty awful week this week) however I'm pretty sure 5-3-2 or 4-4-2 has to be the way to go. But who to leave out up top. At the moment I'm edging towards salah
Think the pricing this year and Salah as a forward makes for a very interesting game

Dropped from around 500th to 1500th this weekend but I think its a decent start with only 1 transfer used.
Pogba captain today and had a strong urge to bring in Aubameyang and captain him but held off. I dont think it was necessarily a bad decision as I didn't want to use a transfer for the sake of 1 match with the wildcard rd imminent.

Would you mind linking to where you saw that on the site? I noticed Luke isn't doing his weekly articles anymore. Thought FFS had stopped covering Sky.wandacatvenus wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 21:42The Fantasy Football Scout website last week indicated that the top 10 had used 12 transfers on average and the top 100, 8 transfers on average.

Thanks, made a few mistakes by not playing it safe and going with guaranteed starters.wandacatvenus wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 21:42Those are good positions. I'm missing out not being in a league with top players as positions of the top players is really useful information to have.

Re: Week 4 Captains
4 transfers. I had a similar urge to bring in someone but just couldnt see anyone scoring 20+ pts. Ruled out Lukaku as Man U have been dreadful, ruled out Aubameyang / Lacazette as i thought Cardiff would keep it tight.ralphypne wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 22:25How many have you used?wandacatvenus wrote: ↑02 Sep 2018, 21:42Those are good positions. I think it depends on what you do with that transfer. If you use it to bring in someone later in the season who scores a hat-trick then it's great.

You can follow Dan's progress (winner season before last) on Fantasy Football Hub. Not sure if those articles are behind a pay wall or not.itslikebrandnew wrote: ↑03 Sep 2018, 09:24 I'm missing out not being in a league with top players as positions of the top players is really useful information to have.
