What's the thought process with Ings?

22 points in 4 games for 7,7 and Monday captain with potential to be a season long keeper, but obviously with the downside of no week 6.

What I've tried to do is make the team as flexible as possible, with as many potential season long keepers as possible.

My last misgivings on the current team.

3.1 isn't enough to upgrade Robertson to Auba, & there is no other way into Auba for week 6. I don't consider that the end of the world though as i'm prepared to take a punt on Robertson  Laca.

Ings - i don't see the point in having a cpt for 1 week only for him not to play the following week, that balances out as not having a captain at all. Especially looking at the next few games Wol(A) Che(H) Bou(A) New(H) City(A). Obviously he is not priced up as a first choice striker, but Saints were pants last season, and have been quite pants this season so far. 1 win against a Zaha-less Palace does not a good team make. 602 minutes of PL football in the previous 3 years doesn't inspire confidence either.

I know Murray at 1.9m more doesn't fit the structure of the team - so i don't know what the answer is.

I have Maddison in my team, but a cheaper defence. So I don't particularly want to cut him - but maybe he could be downgraded. Billing at 6.8 has decent stats (top tackler in the country, 2nd highest shots & passing for Huddersfield. Or maybe all the way down to Mendy at Leicester. IF he is going to be a regular starter at 5.3 - that's a shit load of flexibility for the rest of the team.

Apologies for airing so late in the day - i'm sure you're fed up with this by now.

Cheers Cpt. No need to apologise. I appreciate the input :D .

Ings -IF he stays fit I feel could be massively important for team structure going forward, you just don't usually get viable attackers in this price bracket.

Now Mendy (of the Leicester variety) is an interesting one. He was actually the player I was referring to at the start of the overhaul, when I was talking about another same name double up. As no one picked up on it and he hadn't been mentioned elsewhere I thought I'd keep him under my hat.

As an olive branch to the Aubameyang peoples front. I will consider going Maddison to Papy Mendy (no promises) . If anyone has objections to this move. Please speak up before 3pm this afternoon.

Ok here's the team. I'm sure its not the team anyone (me included) would've chosen for themselves, but I've very much gone for what I perceive as value and left it to the individual to put their own cherry on the top.

After two days of demonstrations outside my house by the Aubameyang peoples front and the peoples front of Aubameyang (splitters) I have caved in and given them multiple easy routes to their chosen one, by switching Maddison to Papy Mendy.

Alison... Liv...7.3
Mendy.. Mc...9.6
Robertson...liv..9.0
Wan-Bissaka..cp..6.6
Luiz...che..8.8
Seri...ful..7.2
Neves...wol..8.5..(Sunday cap)
Mendy...Lei..5.3
Hazard...che..11.8..(Saturday cap)
Aguero...mc..12.8
Ings...sou..7.7..(moday cap)

5.4 left in the bank.

Thanks to everyone for their input, now let's see if anyone has the skills to save me another summer of admin. I've been pretty generous and given most of you a head start :P .

Good luck all :D

Team amended.

Are we sure we don't want Aguero for Saturday captain?

Good job :D

Too late now for Aguero :P

Fwiw I just prefer Hazard because I believe he has higher motm expectations, but I'll be hedging with Aguero in my other team.

When your 11 year old looks over your shoulder and says “OMG you’ve got Danny Ings” you know we’re in trouble

Well done Coleridge, expertly planned as usual. Can’t be many teams re-starting with £5.4m in the bank

Best start planning how to spend it!

I do want to keep Ings, but I fear the temptation to turn him into Salah could be overwhelming .

Thanks for all the hard work, Coleridge, and great debate on here generally (apart from my own meanderings of course) all. Going to be particularly interesting to see how all our picks and rejects do this weekend! Good luck all.

I see you're hoarding transfers again. I'm going to keep an eye on you this year though, after watching you finish like a 🚂 last season.

Inspired choice Coleridge for a 48 pointer! Presumably 58 once MOTM is added. Never in doubt

Inspired choice to captain Hazard today, no wonder you have won the last 2 seasons, respect due.

Cheers Evvy, it's the first one I've nailed all season, picked the right week to do it.

Nbbbee up to 28th :D I reckon most of those above have burned a lot of transfers chasing week and month prizes.

Top captain selection Coleridge. I'd always have gone Aguero myself. Shows how much I know
