Perhaps someone should whisper to Cameron that the outcome of the vote could depend whether the guy in charge of the count has Arsenal players in his fantasy team.

Personally I don't think it should affect the football. Most other games go ahead with very little transport, especially long distance.

"while AFC Wimbledon are not expecting any impact to their League Two match against Northampton Town, as the nearest stations to their Kingsmeadow home are mainline"
But the Mainline never works on Boxing Day so you drive instead
Have done it for years so what is the difference with no tubes !!!

Fulham (v Southampton) and QPR (v WBA) are other London clubs with home matches that day so maybe an issue for them too.Judio wrote:The result of a tube strike ballot on Monday COULD Postpone Arsenal v West Ham on Dec 26th

Rearrangement
Ars v WH postponed to end-Jan 2013.
From Arsenal FC:
"As a result of Monday’s strike ballot and the proposed industrial action on London Underground on Boxing Day, Arsenal’s Premier League match against West Ham United at Emirates Stadium, originally planned for Wednesday 26th December, has been postponed.
This decision has been made now, due to the preparation period needed to safely operate Emirates Stadium by all the relevant agencies.
The Club liaised closely with all the relevant agencies, including the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, London Underground, The Premier League, West Ham United FC and Islington Council, in order to reach this decision.
The paramount concern was always the duty of care towards the Arsenal supporters, West Ham United supporters, Matchday employees and workers and indeed everyone who was planning to attend the match on Boxing Day.
In addition to the proposed industrial action on London Underground on Boxing Day, there are extremely limited services operating on National Rail train services into London on this day. Also, normal parking restrictions close to the stadium still apply. This would have caused severe disruption, or at worst, inability for supporters or Matchday employees and workers to get to Emirates Stadium.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused supporters but we feel that the right decision has been made.
Tickets already purchased for this match are still valid for the rearranged date, which is yet to be confirmed.
However, the Club can confirm that this rearranged fixture will be played on either Wednesday 23rd January (kick off 7.45pm) or Saturday 26th January (kick off 3pm). The date of the fixture will be determined by the results in the FA Cup Third Round, which is being played on the weekend of Saturday 5th January and Sunday 6th January."

Re: 2012-13: Advance news of fixture schedule
Both ESPN and ITV have confirmed their FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Round ties for live broadcast later this month.
Yesterday saw ITV1 announce Oldham Athletic v Liverpool on Sunday 27 January at 4pm.
ITV1’s coverage will begin on the Saturday 26 January with Crystal Palace or Stoke City against current Premier League champions Manchester City at 12.45pm.
Roberto Mancini’s side beat Watford 3-0 at the weekend while Palace held the Potters to a 0-0 stalemate at Selhurst Park.
If Stoke see off the Eagles at the Britannia Stadium it will set up a re-run of the 2011 Final which the Citizens won 1-0 thanks to Yaya Toure’s second-half goal at Wembley Stadium.
ESPN viewers will be able to enjoy three FA Cup ties over Fourth Round weekend and their coverage will begin with West Ham United or Manchester United v Fulham or Blackpool on Saturday 26 January at 5.30pm.
Sunday lunchtime will see The FA Cup holders in action with Chelsea heading to either Brentford or Southend United at 12pm.
The Football League sides battled to a 2-2 draw at the weekend with Southend United striker Barry Corr scoring twice after Uwe Rosler’s side had taken a two-goal lead at Roots Hall.
ESPN conclude their coverage with Leeds United or Birmingham City v Tottenham Hotspur at 2pm.
Spurs got their Cup campaign got underway on Saturday against League One’s Coventry City.
