Are you sure those are right?

Isn't there a rule about CL final grounds not being used for a certain amount of time before the final (more than the 6 days here)

Yes they have agreed a special rule with UEFA after the Uproar two years ago

UEFA were so impressed with the Amount of money Wembley made for them (300 quid tickets helped) they were
desperate to come back !!!

The FA's Chairman David Bernstein said: "We are very pleased to have found a solution which allows the UEFA Champions League Final and all three Football League Play-Off Finals to be played at Wembley in 2013.

Games threat to football: London sides will have to play away

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... z1qhaTumO2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Metropolitan Police want football chiefs to ensure there will be no London fixtures during the Paralympics.
There is due to be a full Premier and Football League programme on September 1-2, a weekend that clashes with the international multi-sports event which follows the 2012 Olympics.

Every London club could face an away game that weekend, causing a major fixture and travel headache.
The Paralympics run from August 29 to September 9 and with police concentrating resources upon that event, they want the capital to be a football-free zone.

The same policing concerns mean London clubs are unlikely to be allowed to host pre-season friendlies during the Olympics, which run from July 27 to August 12.

Will they need any policing at the paralympics?

Surely only one man and a dog will go to each event - OK, slight exaggeration but there would be bigger crowds at typical league games.

Don't be so sure, people I've spoken to are quite keen to sample the events. Pistorius has undoutbedly helped. And the prices are very reasonable.

August start

England World Cup qualifiers in first half of new season:
  • Fri 7 Sept 2012: at Moldova
    Tue 11 Sept: vs Ukraine
Fri 12 Oct: vs San Marino
    Tues 16 Oct: at Poland
plus two friendlies:
  • Wed 15 Aug: vs Italy (provisional)
    Wed 14 Nov: at Sweden
So this is how the new season could begin in August 2012:
  • Sat 11th: Men’s Olympic final (Wembley)

Sun 12th: FA Community Shield (possibly at Villa Park*)

Wed 15th: International friendlies (including England vs Italy in Switzerland*)

Sat 18th: Premier League and Football League: first matches

Tue 21st: First leg of Champions League play-off round

    * Wembley isn't available because of the Olympic Games

No football matches, or any other sporting event, open to the public can be held in a London borough between Wednesday July 25 and Monday August 13.

Another change for next season is that the 6 Group Matches for the Europa League will be played in the same week as the CL
FOR ALL SIX games.

The last few years UEFA have grabbed two separate weeks in December for Europa League only

This could mean the League Cup is played later in the year as the Quarters could be scheduled in December

Last year the Clubs in Europe played in September in third round

Looking at the dates the FA Cup Final can only be scheduled for Sat May 11th which for a third year in a row will be
during the season

After the TV Ratings success it will also be at 1715 as well

Well at least the Premier League will have one less club to worry about, if they are trying to ensure there are no games in London on weekend of September 1st and 2nd, with Chelsea playing in the Super Cup.
