DO NOT POST New Season Fixtures on FISO

Post by Bramernic »

With the release of the fixtures due at 10am this morning I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone about this clause from the forum etiquette thread:
DO NOT COPY FIXTURE LISTS ONTO FISO

Dataco think they own a copyright which may prevent non-licenced sites quoting their fixtures, although the legal position is uncertain. You can link to other websites publishing the fixtures who have a Dataco licence such as the BBC.
It is acceptable to discuss the fixtures as long as details of specific matches are within narrative. For example, it is fine to say "Man United start with a trip to Arsenal followed by Chelsea at Old Trafford and then visit Anfield on day 3". Of course those examples were deliberately chosen to be false.

After release, the following links should contain the actual lists:
English Premiership
Championship
League 1
League 2
Scottish Premiership
Scottish Division 1
Scottish Division 2
Scottish Division 3

That would be interesting, these days its fairly rare to have derby games on the opening day of the season.

I can't remember Spurs starting the league season with a game against Arsenal, Chelsea or West Ham since the 1970s.

Is there also a clause in the forum etiquette thread about posting lies, untruths and unsubstantiated 'mate told me' stories as facts?

PS Liverpool will start away to Wolves. Honest.

From the AFC website...

Arsenal kick-off the campaign with a trip to Goodison Park on August 15 to take on Everton. However Champions League commitments mean the home game with Bolton, which is scheduled for August 18, will have to be re-arranged. Therefore the first Premier League match of the season at Emirates Stadium will be the visit of Portsmouth on August 22.

We'll see. At least it's at home again. We went through a long period of always being away on both the first and last days of the season.
