I can't understand one decision at all.

Feb 6th 2008 is the 50th Anniversary of Munich.

Now which game have they put for that?

Feb 9th - Home to MANCHESTER CITY.

How utterly stupid.

As last year... I was expecting Arsenal and Liverpool to miss an early game but it seems they don't this time round... will this be changed before the start ?

Yes, the list is done as a whole, when the CL draw is made those early fixtures for Liverpool and Arsenal will have to be re-arranged.

Last year Liverpool played Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U away in the first half of the season then at home in the second half. This year it is the other way round. Not that random really is it.....

I'm not sure what the problem is here. It's not like it's the actual day, and if Sky/Setanta want the fixture it may well move to Sunday or even Monday. It's also possible that as it's the 50th anniversary, United actually asked for a good match to round off the rememberance period.

Would think Blackburn away for Afc could be moved as well as Portsmouth at home, another poss move is our game down the road. We could be playing catch up with fixtures all season, pool will probably have same. Title probably go to strongest squad with International comps in mix as well

Portsmouth at home is on a Saturday

Arsenal will only miss one League game to Qualify for group stages

The second leg only clashes with the Carling Cup, where they have a bye

Anyone care to bet that this is the date of Manchester United v Chelsea league fixture?
I was wrong. It's Arsenal v Liverpool instead. So it all comes to the same thing probably.

The Football League seem to have conflicting reports on the Last 8 of the Carling Cup

December 5th per their website

BUT
A full Football League fixture list that week
Also a chance for the UEFA Cup temas to be playing

It looks like Either the 5th OR the 19th will be used

(depending on who is playing)

Two Premier league sides can play on 5th

Unless one is in UEFA Cup on that date

They will then Play on 19th

This means Arsenal and Liverpool re arranged League games
could now be on the 5th OR 19th December

I don't see your point. Man U have to play at Pompey some time. And I'm sure the Pompey fans will be pleased their first home game is against a "big" team, so the home fans will be pleased.

The Point is that the game will not end until 2145 and you have to travel
home to Manchester

Having said that if it was on a Saturday the TV would move it to a 1715
kick off

Just finalising my spreadsheet and I notice that there are no Easter Monday fixtures this year.

Why would that be? There are no European fixtures scheduled for that week (unlike this year) so why are there no matches on 24th March?

PS If anyone wants a copy then PM me your e-mail address. Updates will be sent after each round of matches to include updated scores and fixture changes.

confirmation of TV games up to end November

listed here http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 045485.ece

SKY SPORTS AND SETANTA SPORTS step up the battle for viewers for their live Barclays Premier League matches today by announcing their selection of fixtures. Sky, which has lost its monopoly of live rights for the first time since the league’s formation in 1992 after European Commission intervention, will broadcast 92 games, two thirds of the 138 that will be shown live, with Setanta screening the remaining 46.

While the minimum payment to receive Sky Sports is £34 per month, which comes as part of a variety of packages, including nonsports, Setanta Sports’ channels will be available for £9.99 per month. Last season, the 50 nonSky live games were broadcast on PremPlus, a pay-per-view channel that charged £50 for the season, about half the amount Setanta subscribers will be paying for their 46 fixtures, although they will also receive Scottish and European football — and other sports — for their money.

The first televised match in either the Premier League or Football League will be Roy Keane’s top-flight debut as a manager when his Sunderland team face Tottenham Hotspur at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, August 11, at 12.45pm on Sky Sports. The former Manchester United player inspired the rise of his side from bottom to top of the Coca-Cola Championship last season and Sunderland will be shown live seven times in the first 14 rounds of matches to the end of November, the fifth-highest number among Premier League clubs. In contrast, the other promoted sides, Birmingham City and Derby County, will be televised live on three occasions.

Manchester United and Liverpool will be screened nine times each in the first batch of live matches — the most — with Liverpool’s match away to Aston Villa at tea-time on the opening Saturday constituting Setanta’s first foray into English league football. Villa will appear live eight times by the end of November, more than Chelsea and Arsenal (six and five respectively). Wigan Athletic are the only team with just two live appearances, although all clubs must be shown at least five times.

Sky will show all four meetings between last season’s top four teams before the end of November, while Setanta has acquired live rights to FA Cup matches jointly with ITV from the 2008-09 season. “We’re expecting to have a considerable impact,” Trevor East, its director of sport, said. “Only a year ago, hardly anybody had heard of Setanta in England.”

Sky will show four games more than last season. “This new deal means we can provide a better balance of coverage of all 20 clubs,” Vic Wakeling, Sky Sports’ managing director, said.

The UEFA site isn't a great deal of use, does anyone know for sure if Spurs, Bolton and Everton go straight to the UEFA Cup 1st rd KO stage and Blackburn will join them if they win their Intertoto final?

EVE, TOT and BOL are in Round 1.

If BLA beat the Lithuanians in their intertoto match they will go into the second qualifying round.
