Premier League fixtures, subject to TV rearrangements:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/pre ... e/fixtures

West Ham will play their first three Premier League games away from home to make way for the athletics World Championships and Usain Bolt’s retirement party. This means Southampton begin with two home matches.

Liverpool had the same issue at the start of last season thanks to delays in the building of their new Anfield stand.

Also in an amazingly sensible move

THE EFL have cancelled 2 Championship games on Sep 12th

So that Barnsley and Derby can play their delayed League Cup match

Which means that Tottenham can actually play their first League Cup Match on Time in Round 3 week against the winner of this match

if they had not done this then Tottenham could not play Round 3 until Round 4 week

And then Round 5 not until Semi Final week !!!

Chaos avoided

Spurs already have
6 CL group Games
2 PL games
2 International breaks scheduled

So that takes up 12 of the 13 Midweeks left this season !!!

The night before Christmas

Post by SamD »

One or more of the Premier League games on Sat 23 Dec will be moved back to Christmas Eve.
This may provoke a debate on how away fans might get home via public transport that night.

Original schedule for 3pm on Sat 23rd:
Arsenal v Liverpool
Brighton v Watford
Burnley v Spurs
Everton v Chelsea
Leicester v Man United
Man City v Bournemouth
Southampton v Huddersfield
Stoke v West Brom
Swansea v Crystal Palace
West Ham v Newcastle

Sky Sports seem keen on broadcasting the Ars-Liv match at 4pm on Sun:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... istmas-eve

For info:
- League Cup quarter final round is due on Tue-Wed 19-20 Dec
- ten PL games are currently scheduled for Tues 26 Dec
- League are set to release TV fixtures for Dec & Jan in week beginning 16 Oct
(these were announced on Fri 14 Oct last year).

From today's Fans meeting with the PL

Take a look at The FSF (@The_FSF): https://twitter.com/The_FSF?s=09

1 No match will be on Xmas Eve at 4pm or later

2 There will still be 4 TV games that weekend

3 As a result the next TV Announcement is delayed a week until Oct 19th

4 In the next TV deal there will be No Morning or Evening game on Sunday to make up the extra TV Games

5 Instead there will be multiple games at same time on Holidays and Midweek

More info from West Ham.

All we are getting one week late are four rounds of December games.

We will have to wait until after EFL Cup before we know Dec 22nd games and later

Take a look at WHUISA 2017 (@WHUISA2017): https://twitter.com/WHUISA2017?s=09

The announcement on the 19th will NOT include which games will be televised from 23rd Dec fixtures which game selected 4 Christmas Eve)

The Premier League will honour its commitment to announce TV fixtures six weeks ahead of time but prob after next round of League Cup games

If they want 4 games on the weekend, could be 12.30 and 3 on xmas eve.
