Leicester v Chelsea on Saturday 28 Feb has been postponed because of the League Cup final on 1 March
West Ham v Chelsea has also moved because of the League Cup final, from Tuesday 3 March to Wednesday 4 March kick-off 1945

Re: 2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread
There MAY be a free date for Leicester v Chelsea on Sat March 7th
BUT Leicester would have to be knocked out of the Cup
AND Chelsea would have to give up their free weekend just before a Champions League tie
AND We assume it will still be on Sky ???

Re: 2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread
Bit early but...
Any guesses as to when 5th Round replays would be played?
Liverpool, for example (if they get there etc), have a Europa League game in the first 2 midweeks after the tie (would normally be in the second one, i.e. about 10 days after original tie) and then a league game in the 3rd midweek so it can't be played before QF weekend (7-8 March). Presume same applies to all teams in Europe.

Re: 2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread
If that happened then the actual 6th round games would have to wait a while as there are more European games for 2 weeks, meaning the 6th round game would be on about 25th March. With any potential replay being ......Judio wrote:Sixth Round Day ???

Congestion
Only Liverpool are (potentially) affected as the last 32 and last 16 rounds of the Europa League are staged over four Thursdays in Feb-March.Any guesses as to when 5th Round replays would be played? Liverpool have a Europa League game in first 2 midweeks after tie and league game in 3rd midweek so it can't be played before QF weekend (7-8 March). Presume same applies to all teams in Europe.
Of the six English clubs still in Europe, four have been eliminated from the FA Cup [Chelsea, Man C, Spurs, Everton].
The other, Arsenal, may have midweek options as the two Champions League last 16 ties are staged over four midweek slots.
Note, however, that UEFA guidelines state that Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup games must not clash with match dates in the Champions League and Europa League.
The FA has been fined for not complying with the rule in recent seasons because of domestic fixture congestion.

After the elimination of Leicester today from the FA Cup, both teams are now free on the weekend of the 7th/8th March. No date set for the fixture yet though.
Also, the next (& final?) TV schedule announcements. Will they be soon?

They will wait to see if Man U win tonight and see the draw for Cup
Then they will wait and leave us for another week !!
So not until mid of next week ?
Leicester may be free but Jose will like having weekend off before PSG game so may say no to the 7th ???

Re: 2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread
Rearranged games for League Cup Final and FA Cup Semis
Because of the late finish to the season there are still 3 available dates which fit in with the UEFA restrictions
Weds April 8th (Wont be popular if someone is picked by Sky on Easter Monday)
Weds April 29th
Weds May 20th
Chelsea will have a maximum of 2 games to rearrange so may feel they dont need to rush
and play Leicester on the 7th March

Re: 2014-15: Fixture Changes Thread
I believe there's a 10-for-6 for Liverpool over Chelsea beginning Sunday. Even as a Liverpool fan, can't say I'll be lumping on that one!

Assuming that's right, (I haven't a clue), then presumably if Liverpool draw with Blackburn, it becomes an 11-for-6. Does that swing it for you?Mystery wrote:I believe there's a 10-for-6 for Liverpool over Chelsea beginning Sunday. Even as a Liverpool fan, can't say I'll be lumping on that one!

Very strange Table today
28 Games played which means 10 left
Makes sense to see 5 Home and 5 away
BUT
Liverpool Spurs West Ham and Southampton (and QPR after the game in hand) only have 4 at home !!!!

It's been like that ever since November (at every even-numbered game anyway) - due to how they arranged the fixture blocks this yearJudio wrote:Very strange Table today

When we get to game 32 there will be 6 left, and (ignoring the Lei-Che game which will still be outstanding) EVERY team will have either 2 or 4 home games (nobody has got 3 home and 3 away in the last 6)

Correct
But it will be interesting to see the reaction if Bradford get ignored for their replay !!!!
Only 2 games can be chosen I think

Well, they are playing a mediocre Championship team, it's not exactly a ratings winner, especially as the first game was goalless as well!

So now we have confirmation
No Monday night football April 20th Villa v QPR cancelled
Chelsea v Man U goes ahead at 1730 on FA Cup Semi Saturday
Do you think Sky will still televise the Villa match when it is rearranged ??
