Re: 2013-14: Fixture Changes Thread
How are UEFA allowed to dictate the FA or PL's fixture scheduling? They've even banned a non-televised Sheff Wed v Charlton game from happening on a Tuesday night, what a joke! How is that going to affect their Champions League? (http://www.swfc.co.uk/news/article/new- ... 63724.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Some TV Company in Europe could pick up the rights to it
Just imagine going to a bar in Greece and saying
Could you turn over the Olympiakos v Man U game please, I want to watch Charlton

Can't remember being as interested in when a meaningless Cup game (Hull/Sunderland) will be screened, as it will probably screw up seeing the Man City team news before transfer decisions have to be made.Judio wrote:ITV have pick number 3 and are waiting to see if a Sheffield Derby will happen before deciding on Tuesday morning
Will ITV save us by showing Sheff Utd/Charlton as the only early Sunday game - probably not. Or will they screen Hull going head to head with Sky's Chelsea/Tottenham - probably not.

So much for the 6-week advance notice for televised games.
April 9th is six weeks away from today and we haven't had the April 5th EPL games announced yet.

I wonder will these games have to be postponed again if Arsenal v Everton ends in a draw this Saturday. Should be allowed to play March 19th but as we saw in the last round the FA seem to be complying with the UEFA rule.Judio wrote:Arsenal v Swansea

Re: 2013-14: Fixture Changes Thread
Very good point.
One of City's home games HAS to be on Wed 16th - no way around that (with the other around 7 May). So ManU-Hull will have to be on Tue 15th, or (more likely assuming Hull's cup semi is on Sunday) ManU-Hull will also be delayed to around 7 May (on the other night to City's game that week).
All changes if Sky agree to move City-Liverpool to Saturday, to avoid clash with an FA Cup semi. One of the semis is going to be on Sunday and there are PL TV games scheduled at 2 and 4 that afternoon. I can't see the cup game being a noon KO or waiting till 6pm.

After Arsenal's elimination tonight, Everton v Arsenal can go ahead on Sunday April 6th at 1:30pm, with Man City, Man United and Chelsea all playing on Saturday April 5th, regardless of CL progression. Still the potential for swapping around of games on the Easter weekend and April 26th/ 27th/ 28th but we should have a clearer idea tomorrow week.

Re: 2013-14: Fixture Changes Thread
Yes, Man City v West Brom should be allowed to go ahead on Easter Monday but you just never know what sky might do. Things could get messy if both Chelsea and Man United progress , draw each other in the semi's and have to play on Tuesday 22nd (unlikely but not impossible). At the moment Chelsea v Sunderland is at 2:05pm on Sunday 20th with Everton v Man United at 4:10pm. One game can easily swap with the Hull v Arsenal game currently set for 5:30pm on Saturday 19th. However they may need to take BT's 12:45pm (Tottenham v Fulham) slot to show the other. Sky currently have a triple header for Sunday 20th with Norwich v Liverpool at midday. They may not want BT to take up one of the Sunday slots and so might decide to give them the Monday night game and bring the Man City v West Brom game back to the Sunday to maintain the triple header. Of course a lot has to happen yet for that to become a possibility.snout wrote:After City's exit from CL last night, is their Easter Monday night KO versus West Brom now confirmed?
