Looks solid enough but......Sane an obvoius risk & could be sold,James could be a mega bargain at 1m but will Ole throw him straight in??.

Alonso,is he gonna be 1st choice lb again under Frank?..De gea=leaky defence??.
All the above i'm sure your aware of :) ...but just my thoughts anyway👍

I'm not convinced with a few

I'd be wanting Ederson or Alison for the extra 1M or a cheaper one
can't see much between Robertson and TAA so I'd save .5 there
Alonso ... will he start ? same applies to James
the rest all look solid picks imo

Sorry, I meant Mane... not Sane.

de Gea, Alonso, James and Jota were all sketchy picks so I’ll more than likely alternate them until the season starts.

Cheers bud. Not sure on this 3 players per team rule, so I’m playing it safe by restricting myself.

I have now changed the team quite dramatically from the original setup.

GK: Lloris
DF: TAA
DF: Digne
DF: Zinchenko
MF: Sterling
MF: Mane
MF: Bernardo
MF: Moura
ST: Rashford
ST: Salah
ST: Batshuayi

I might make a few adjustments for the start of the season to incorporate a few players who have appealing games (example: Sigurdsson and Wilson), but I’m generally happy with that. I also have £1.5m in the bank to make minor adjustments where necessary.

Okay - I’ve torn my original line-up apart and used the Shield’n’Sword concept to throw this team together:

GK. Alisson (LIV)
DF. Robertson (LIV)
DF. Laporte (MCI)
DF. Mina (EVE)
MF. Sterling (MCI)
MF. de Bruyne (MCI)
MF. Pereyra (WAT)
MF. James (MUN)
ST. Salah (LIV)
ST. Aguero (MCI)
ST. Richarlison (EVE)

De Bruyne is just a placeholder for Mane when the latter comes back from AFCON. I may yet change him to Moura for the opening game of the season and keep £3m ITB.

There’s obviously some questionable choices in there, but I’ll be happy to explain my reasoning behind my picks if anyone is interested.

I like it,much better than your 1st effort👍...only question marks would be mina & james but they could prove unfounded & end up great picks??.

Cheers pal.

I used the Shield & Sword concept. Basically Shields are the players that a majority of other will players have, and will be seen as a Pick'n'Stick solution for the whole season. I wanted these players to make up roughly 2/3rds of my team (Alisson, Robertson, Laporte, Sterling, de Bruyne/Mane, Salah, Aguero).

The rest of my team would be the Swords who will act as differentials and are short/medium term prospects (Mina, Pererya, James, Richarlison).

I originally had TAA instead of Robertson, but that would have left me with £1.5m for a defender. The only players that really stood out in that bracket were Maitland-Niles, Holding and Fredericks.
I figured that downgrading to Robertson would leave me with £2m for a defender and that left me with players like Mina, Aurier and Davies.

I picked Mina for a few reasons:
1) Last season, Everton ended the season with 8 clean sheets in 11 games. Although Mina wasn't a regular part of the team then, I'm hoping that he has a good pre-season and cements a place in the starting XI,
2) If he does become a regular, then Everton have a good opening set of fixtures before the International Break (cry, WAT, avl, WLV); plus a League Cup game,
3) Again, if he does become a regular then it is well known he is a goal-threat.

I will monitor him in pre-season, but may switch out to any of the Spurs full-backs (Aurier, Davies, Walker-Peters, Foyth(?)) if their line-up becomes more settled.

James however, is more of a gamble so I'm more nervous about that one and Pererya is my wild-card. Last season Watford had the exact same opening fixture and he scored twice in that game, so I'm hoping lightning strikes twice.

Like I said previously, I may start with Moura instead of de Bruyne for the Spurs/Villa match, and then transfer in Mane when he becomes more of a regular in the Liverpool line-up.
