ESPN Premier Fantasy - Anybody Interested?

Post by Not So Special One »

Entries appear to be way down from last season, when the top 65,536 scoring teams were entered in its cup eliminations - that's more than the total number of players this week. The prizes are modest, but competing is free, and other more popular fantasy leagues offer no prizes at all.

This isn't my only fantasy league but I'm enjoying it. The option to make substitutions and even transfers every game day, not just for the game week, adds realism and interest, and apart from the 2 points for Key Contribution (aka man of the match?), the scoring is balanced and logical.

What's more, the pitch display is cool and the Manager's Notebook is well done.

Yet apart from one thread setting up this seasons Super League, no message has been posted here since June.

Not so, apparently, despite the name of the game being ESPN Fantasy Soccer. The rules set no limits on eligibility, even for the prizes (such as they are), and provide for "A league for fellow managers from your country." That isn't just empty talk; more than 3/4 of the players are in national leagues other than the USA (though two Yanks now top the overall table), and they can't all be Canadians and Mexicans.
