ESPN EPL Fantasy Cup
I have just noticed that ESPN are doing a cup game, much like other fantasy games. Below are the details as copied from the web site (I hope that's OK?)
You can check out your teams standing in the cup from the options that include View Squad, View Points top right above team graphic.
Fantasy Premier League Cup - Qualifying
The week starting January 12th is the qualifying round. The top 65,536 scoring teams will enter the first round (week starting January 19th). If the event of a tie for position 65,536 the team that registered for the game earliest will qualify.
Fantasy Premier League Cup - The knock-out rounds
Each qualifying team will be randomly drawn against another in the first round. The winner (the team with the highest weekly score), will progress to the second round and another random draw, the losers are out! This process continues until the final week when the two remaining teams contest the Fantasy Premier League Cup final.
If a cup match is drawn the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:
Most goals scored.
Most KC's.
Most clean sheets.
Registered first.
Here is a provisional calendar of the rounds:
Week starting Jan 12: Qualifying Round.
Week starting Jan 19: Round 1 - 65,536 teams
Week starting Jan 29: Round 2 - 32,768 teams

They say that the draw is 'random' but it seems to me that they may be pairing-up people who are in the same general part of the league table. My team was only recently entered so sits down around 100,000th place. My opponents for both Rd 1 and Rd 2 were very similarly placed. Have others noticed this too ?

Just got through the latest round 53 - 24.
My next challenge is a team call DynamoUF who are ranked 54527 which even lower than the last guy I beat.
He must have started late or had a really bad start. Maybe even been lucky to have been playing really bad teams to have got so far in the cup. A lot of high ranked teams have gone so he must be doing something right. Will have to keep an eye on the fixtures to make sure I don't cock it up now.
