CYKI FA Cup 2008/09 Cup Competition

Post by Shaggy365 »

Yes, I know it's a bit of a mouthful, but since the CYKI FA Cup has started, I'll announce rules for the FISO CYKI FA Cup 2008/09 Cup Competition.

After the 3rd round games, the top 32 will go into the hat to be drawn against each other for the 4th round & so on until we have a final in May. All draws will be made by Shaggy Jnr who will be blindfolded, at some point shortly after each round's games. Since replays don't count in the competition, it will usually be a day or two after the weekend's games.

In the event of a tie (either for 32nd place or during the invidual matches), the following rules will determine who goes through and who goes out:
1. Most goals scored
2. Most assists
3. Cheapest entry
4. Most points scored by substitute
5. Most points scored by captain
6. Lucky dip

There's no need to reply to this thread in order to state your willingness to participate. Anyone who is in the FISO mini-league is automatically included into the FISO CYKI FA Cup 2008/09 Cup Competition.

Don't expect I'll be anywhere near the top 32, but I've a question. The Histon v. Swansea City match has been postponed until Tuesday, Jan. 13, because the pitch was frozen. Since this isn't a replay, so those of us with Swansea or Histon players won't get a double score, will the draw for the cup wait until the match is finally played or go ahead regardless?

Having re-read the rules, any games that didn't take place this weekend don't score any points at the moment. However, when the games eventually take place in a week or so's time, then the points will be added into the competition.

I doubt CYKI will even start to put up league tables until after all the matches have been played, so the top 32 won't go through to the next round until all points scoring has taken place on the 13th/14th (assuming no second postponements).

Time for the remaining 4 3rd round games tonight. Due to work commitments, I shall be posting the draw for the first round of the CYKI FA Cup 2008/09 Cup Competition tomorrow evening when I've managed to get hold of 32 table tennis balls for jnr to carry out the draw.

I've got no players playing tonight, so I can only get worse, but there will be a few entrants sweating on results to see if they can get into the top 32.

Good luck, one and all.

Replays dont count for points, so there was no sweating, we were all stuck where we were regardless.

But the four ties tonight that were postponed last time did count (a few peeps may have had Swansea players for example).

I had no-one tonight but just scraped into the top 32 by a point. 8-)

Ah of course, silly me. I only had 1 non-premiership player, and he was injured
4 of my premiership players, including my captain, didnt even play!

i still amassed 38 points and snagged 22nd in the FISO league 8-)

The next round draw is as follows : (although it's a bit of a mess at the moment)

Code: Select all

Time for Trumpton / Thornhill Wanderers v Yankees / Chester's Cup Draws
Just a Cup Team / stegg v The Mad Ferrits / Metal Warlord
invinciblehenry / The Bare Bones v Equipe Chat's Noir / Cwpan Pants FC
Bloodaxe_United / Merlins_Apprentice v Sexual Ealing / fozzies
And when the 5th round scoring is complete tomorrow, I'll make this look a bit more sensible.
