It's points per individual events in the game unlike an overall view as it used to be. If you followed it you could see he got minus points on that error then his several late saves kept increasing his score plus there was no obvious star performer getting anywhere near a score of eight. Whether you like this scoring system or not we know what to expect if you monitor what scores what while the match is in progress so should be less surprises and thus less controversial theoretically.

I get all of that! Blogger!. Only (whoscored, the Sun) could possibly award someone a Starman for equalising for the other team tho'

Yeah as per my comment. He did warrant the Starman through (whoscored the Sun), so you are definitely right there. 4/10 Sky, 6/10 daily Mail. I think that say's it all. If Leicester had equalised in any other way, the Starman could have definitely been warranted.

Willian was probably the best player consitently throughout the match, but Lukaku definitely had the most influence on the game, so I can see why/ how it was given to Willian. But whoscored/ The Sun should get their act together, and start awarding more players on Merit. Pickford yesterday made at least three saves, distribution was second to none, and was unlucky not to get an assist for the possible equaliser, so the fact he made one mistake albeit rectified, and was otherwise quiet; surely he should have got a 7, but what do I know!.

The Sun game will always throw out dodgy and very debatable ratings; I guess anyone that plays the game will have to to live with it.

I understand your frustration mate but its been like this for years with dubious starman awards etc,whoever does the ratings its something we have to put up with.

We have to remember the Starman isn't necessarily the best player . It's who performs best to pre-set rules based on opta stats .
