As if there isn't a top 50 thread. Will try and post a table later after final points are all in.

How many teams are too far off already?

Same. Lukaku hat-trick means I've only got 2 teams in contention

I wouldn't mind it as team in 25th has still got him

Any idea how many in top 50 still have him?

I reckon 230 and a team in good shape (e.g at least one of Mane and Lukaku and a defence yet to fire) is still in it. My third best team only has 222.

Surely premature to be stipulating the need to have X amount of points and certain personnel?

Is Lukaku/Mane based on price rises?

Genuine question;

Where will Mane be on the midfielder list at season end?
We thinking top 3?

Ditto Lukaku on the striker list? He's notorious for being hot and cold... maybe as he matures he's going to get more consistent (a trend we've seen year on year). Saw a stat last night comparing him to some great strikers at the same age (and he's on top).

We are on Game Week 5 - Too early to be writing teams off.

With so many transfers and the effect of price rises I genuinely believe that it will be impossible to come from a long way back. Granted, others will see it differently.

I will manage all of my teams through to the end of October, but I'm already only investing time plotting strategy for my best two.

Ash has learnt from prematurely predicting the end for non-City blocks at the start of September last season :D

But players like Sanchez, Kane, Ozil and even de Bruyne haven't got going. Teams haven't strung runs of 5 clean sheets together. Similarly, will Costa, Sterling, Nolito keep going? Will Lukaku even keep going? Off-piste players like Eriksen or Silva can wade in.

The transfers and prices will make it more interesting but it's still so early there will be some big swings over the course of just a couple of weeks.

I agree with cbn I think once your behind generally that's it. A good start is vital especially now with the price increases. It's a double bonus.

Plus you say about Kane Sanchez etc etc you an just bring them in each week. It's not like it used to be when your stuck with the players for months on end

You only get three transfers.
And/or have to wait till the following Monday to bring some players in.

It's still early enough that a couple of games can shift things around. Eriksen 'could' hit 20 odd points this week and make inroads to that Lukaku haul.

The window of opportunity is narrowing but I don't think it's shut yet.

In previous years we have seen a team with 100+ points lead at Christmas still not win.
The fundamental points volatility of the game remains the same. Even though the price fluctuations can make it harder for leaders to be caught the advantage of holding the early form players, preventing lower teams from catching up, works only if those players continue to score highly.

Ditto,

I'm still managing all my ten teams as if they all have a chance. And the lowest one is only on 146. But who knows, if Chelsea start to defend like some of us thought they would ect. it could all change. So many possibilities.

Leicester went 5 or 6 games without conceding last year..its possible a spurs or a arsenal block or any team does something similar again while other teams concede or rotate etc

not sure people will blow 3 transfers on defenders anyway

Anyway, why the need to start a second top 50 thread?
