"The PGA of America made its traditional announcement today, giving exemptions into the PGA Championship to all golfers in the top 100 in the current Official World Golf Ranking.

The PGA also awards special invites. Then, to fill the field of 156, those outside the top 70 on a special points list thru Sunday are added.

Jimmy Walker was 76th to sneak into for his first start in the major. Thirty-six others were also added today: Fredrik Andersson Hed, Gregory Bourdy, Darren Clarke, Rhys Davies, Simon Dyson, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, Ross Fisher, Hiroyuki Fujita, Stephen Gallacher, Paul Goydos, Anders Hansen, Peter Hanson, Tetsuji Hiratsuka, David Horsey, Yuta Ikeda, Raphael Jacquelin, Thongchai Jaidee, Jerry Kelly, Simon Khan, Kyung-Tae Kim, W.C. Liang, Shane Lowry, Ross McGowan, George McNeill, Edoardo Molinari, Colin Montgomerie, Seung-yul Noh, Koumei Oda, Corey Pavin, Alvaro Quiros, John Senden, Michael Sim, Kevin Stadler, Mike Weir, Danny Willett, Chris Wood. Two berths are reserved for winners of the WGC-Bridgestone Invite and Turning Stone Resort Championship if not otherwise eligible.

D.J. Trahan and Matt Jones are the first two alternates, respectively."

The next couple of weeks are bound to result in quite a few points being left on the practice ground...

Even without making transfers, there's a quandry as to whether to pick the higher priced players over cheaper players that are in better form. However, it always makes me nervous to leave out a player worth $1.5m or above.
