Still 4 months to go, anything can happen.

I really want another top 100 finish this year to at least prove to myself last year was no fluke and I am on the right track. Going to have to go some to beat 5 top 100 teams like last year though but I have some teams in good shape to hopefully make a late move. Fingers crossed.

I'm struggling in the cash super leagues though with virtually no chance to win in most of them.

The Dempsey move last week has seen this team move up to 6k. And putting it in my other team too in this SL has suddenly made it very interesting at the top of the SL as no one above me has him so the gap is down to 63pts and 36pts respectively. Game on. 18t left in the other team.

And a cool 31 pts in my best overall team has seen this shoot up to 288th and still has 20t left and hasn't used one since mid November. The gap to the top 100 is now only 24 and to top spot is 94.

Finally one of my teams in D1 has moved to 9th, 15 off the lead.

Shame most of my cash SLs aren't quite so positive.

Tot Pts 984
Nat Pos 6077 (8769 lw)
SL Pos 9/106 (12/106 lw)
Pts between 1st and 2nd -61 pts (-83 lw)

The Positive
1. Managed to pull this team to just outside its highest seasonal position in 6k now and with a good solid side, I'm hopeful it can continue rising. The gap to the SL leader is down to 61 pts, sounds a lot but it was nearly double that not so long ago. My 2nd team in this SL is now just 39 back.
2. My best overall team is in 315th, 28 off the top 100 and 101 off the super Devil dude and plenty of transfers to keep this going, still no transfer since Nov 21st!
3. Still have a chance in the Nefi (592nd and SL 2nd, -10pts) and Centurions leagues (2236th and SL 5th, -44pts) at least a placing.
4. Got a good chance in the divisional league 1 where I'm 9th, 24 pts back, some big names up there.

The Negative
1. Poor showings in my defence of my tenners and egg crowns and also the 25s and drunken SLs.

I decided to get rid of Jones for Baines on Friday night, no real gain but EFC got through and have a nice draw so not all lost despite them having a toughish run coming up, having said that I'm hoping Baines will have a good end to the season as EFC often do.

Managed to haul this team to its highest position of the season to 5265th position. Team looks solid enough to continue climbing and the SL deficit is down to 55 pts maybe there's a glimmer of hope there too.

My two best teams are stuck in 375th and 635th, the former still has 20t left.

Unbelievably in my SL things have tightened up.

This team was 124 pts behind after week 15 and still 114 behind 4 weeks later. Now the lead is just 26 with this team reaching a season high of 2685th, my other two teams in this SL are now just 21 and 14 behind both with 17 transfers left. It's going to be an exciting finish. Obviously some teams still to play so lead could extend but back in real contention.

Also my team called Guly do Prado which sits atop the Sunderland league fans SL (just) has reached 156th still with the 20t it had left on Nov 21st. 11 off the top 100, 27 off top 50 and 100 off the leader.

Was very very tempted to bring Ba in to this team today but the low transfers and the fact NUFC are out of the cup dissuaded me (oh and the wife's coin toss :P ).

So all to play for now with the deficit down to just 31 pts. All my 3 teams right up there in 6th-8th, 6th 25 pts back with 17t left so better placed than this team.

Best placed national teams have dropped a bit from the high of 156th and are now at 206th and 259th so the Devil can sleep easy tonight haha, he is now 118 ahead, I can't see me catching him to be honest so will content myself with as high a top 100 finish as possible.

In case you have been wondering why the updates have been a little irregular lately, I have been out of action with a serious eye infection, this being the third week of pain! I cannot use screens this week having had a nasty procedure on Monday and am confined to a darkened room with Radio 5 Live for company.

I am hoping that I will be back to my normal self before too long.

As HH is out of action, thought I'd check in as it's been a month since the last time I did. The last month has been more of the same - overall upwards drift across all teams, but no team getting anywhere near the top. Ave transfers left 10-11, best team 5,109 and overall:
3/21 in top 10k
17/21 in top 50k
20/21 in top 70k
(21st team is the one with severe transfer restrictions, so doesn't really count)

Jeez, have just checked - last year at this point my single-entrant team was in 1,734th, this year with 21 teams the best I've got is 5,109th

I'm sort of back. Still a long way to go to overcome this rare eye infection but I am improving and can use a screen today so making the most of it.

Update on this team, done Silva to Adebayor today so 12 left. This team is now in 2153rd and has moved to within 18 pts of the SL lead, incredible really. I'm only 3pts off 2nd too who doesn't have RVP.

Best team which had 20 trfs left is treading water in 207th so I have given it a bit of a kickstart today and burned 3 transfers, 96 pts off the TFF leader, it's a long shot but we'll see how it goes.

All getting very interesting now in this SL with the long term leader, heavy on Spurs, falling to 4th and the new leader is now only 9 pts clear of me, I also have 2nd (8 pts back, wife's team) and 5th (17 pts back). Just goes to show that even huge leads can be hauled back. Not far off the top 1k and is currently in its highest season long position in 1632nd.

My best team is now in 150th, but still 96 off the TFF leader and 8 back from the top 100.

I just glanced back at where I was last year at this stage and I was just outside the top 100 with just 6 transfers left. Why does it feel that 12 is not enough this year? There aren't many extra game ops out there atm and there are only 10 weeks left.

After Aguero was benched again decided that Rooney had to come in but as I was 0.2m short I had to burn another so decided to bring in Young for Adebayor as Spurs have gone off the boil. Just feel that MU have a very easy run in and Young has found some form and can score some tasty points so hopefully this will make up for the lack of cup games. 10 left now and a good looking side. 3 pts off the top of my SL, would have been top but for the non Baines KC yesterday but today is going pretty well so far so hopeful I will be tomorrow with RVP and Walcott to play.

So after being 114 behind at week 19 just 12 weeks later I'm now 15 clear, in the words of Hansen, "Unbelievable". Into the top 1K and at its highest position and a good chance I'm hoping of a top 250 finish. My other two teams are 2nd (13t left) and 4th (14t left) so I'm in a "good moment". My other two teams both have Adebayor so I'm running the risk to go without him here this w/e. I had planned to switch to Pool tonight but given their form and the advice of The Woolster :P who I can blame if it goes wrong I have decided against any moves.

My best team entered the top 100 at 84th on Sunday then dropped to 91st last night as it only had RVP, got to decide the best way forward to bridge the gap to the Super Devil which is currently 91 pts and 36 to the top 20 is perhaps a more realistic target.

I have 3 teams left in the S20s although 1 is the team in 91st above, one of the others still has 17t left so I will be trying my hardest with that team, the other won 78-77 last night!

Best placed Divisionals are 81st (again my 91st placed team), and 124th which is this team.

I have 12 teams in the top 10k, 91,287,834,853, 1165,1422, 1571,2120, 4537,5265, 6158,7243. Most other teams I have stopped managing now as I have had to moderate my time on the PC with this eye problem which whilst getting better is still very light sensitive so can't drive or watch much TV etc.

SL Update

My wife brought in Gerrard last night, I brought in Reina and Enrique in my 2nd team, the end result of which is we hold the top 3 places in this SL. Team in 4th got 28 last night so Reina, Enrique and Gerrard for him.

Best Team update

Up to 65th, might have been 37th had I done the Dempsey to Gerrard move instead of Sunday. Decided it was too risky last night coming back from injury in a derby against a previously watertight EFC defence. Still got above average transfers left in this team so we will see how high I can get it although it's a shame there aren't some better extra game ops for the tortoise shaggers.

65th -1469 pts

49th - 1477pts (8)
30th - 1491pts (22)
20th - 1502pts (33)
10th - 1510pts (41)
1st - 1548 pts (79)

If only I had done the Gerrard move in midweek eh :P . Currently have the top 3 in my SL so I'm looking forward to the Chairman's weekly update email! Going to hopefully sit on my 9 transfers now until April and see where this team is.

My best placed team continues its rise in the top 100 and is now 56th but not making any ground on the Devil, still 79 behind but only 28 off the top 20 and still well above average double digit transfers left so all to play for. It's also one of 2 teams left in the S20 after one just missed out by 4 pts but the best placed with loads of transfers left is one I will need to concentrate on as it has a great chance of progressing far.

A nice week with a surprise Baines haul sees this team return to the top 1k and to the top of its SL. I still hold all 3 of the podium spots but tonight could be a big night and a bit scary with so many popular players I don't have playing. Behind the sofa for me.

My best team is now up to 36th, 15 off the top 20 and 63 off the leader, hopefully a few playing tonight so might hold position which I would be happy with. Still above average transfers left in this team so hopeful of a high finish and it is currently 68 clear in the Sunderland fans SL.

Nearly did Ade for Walcott as well, I was over the submit button but it would have taken 2 transfers to get RVP back in so decided against that, plus he has been poor of late. It would have been a good defensive move though in this SL.

Team is up to its highest position at 564th and as I hold the top 3 positions in the SL I am 62 pts clear of 4th.

Did Dempsey to Valencia tonight for the 4-2 and better games. Have Dempsey in my other 2 teams so have cover there.

Another good week here and a rise to a new high of 501st after 2 successful transfers, well at least so far anyway. Got to bring RVP back (for Gerrard) and the decision is when, will need a 2nd transfer to enable it probably Hart for Howard or Friedel a tricky choice or lose Walcott which I don't really want to do given their run in.

My top team continues its labouring progress to 42nd but nothing has really come off lately, so nearly went MU mad last night but thought I would wait a bit longer, BBR away was a tricky game or so I thought.

Looks like another very decent season for you HH, even if not quite (yet) hitting the heights of last year!

My first multi season has not gone so well - all 20 teams have ended up with pretty similar teams and, while they are nearly all in the top 50k, there's been little real improvement recently...
Teams in top 10k: 5/20 (2/20 in Nov)
Teams in top 50k: 19/20 (14/20 in Nov)
Best team: 6,788th  (2,630th in Nov)

Why didn't I drop Walcott rather than Dempsey grrr. Also not sure how wise my Howard/RVP transfers will turn out to be either. Cisse is tricky now as 4th has him but Adebayor was supposed to be coming in for him.

Despite this the team climbs to its highest position inside the top 300 not bad from where it was a few months ago. Only 56 clear of 4th as I hold top 3.

Baines to Evans - 4 left.

After Aguero's fine recent form I decided the only way I could get him in was to downgrade Baines to Evans allowing Cisse this Saturday and a possible switch to Aguero on Sunday and hopefully continue his points fest away to Wolves. I had planned Ade to come back in but I think MC are in better form right now. As I type I'm still waiting for those 9 Evans points due to a TFF cock up.

A small climb to 266th and I still hold the top 3 in our SL although 4th and 5th are closing in. 74 clear of 4th should be enough but you never know. Bringing in Evans now allows me to bring in Aguero, I'm loathe to lose Cisse as he is hot but Aguero's form cannot be ignored and I fancy a strong finish from MC.

My best placed team is now in its highest position in 26th, 58 off top, 46 off 2nd, 36 off 3rd, 15 off top 10 and 6 off top 20. But the transfers I have made with this team just haven't worked out and it's not got any chance of glory so I will try and get it as high as possible to follow up last year's 3rd finish.

Up to a new high of 189th and 20 off the top 100. Walcott's injury is doubly annoying as I had the choice not so long ago to dump him rather than Dempsey when I brought in Valencia who has been disappointing since I brought him especially yesterday with 4 goals and only 2 pts to show, similarly I expected more from Aguero than the solitary goal v Wolves. But the SL lead having still got the top 3 is 74 with 3 weeks to go.

My best team fell to 29th and is now 62 off the lead.

A pretty poor week all round across my teams and this one was no exception. In quite a few I have made a lot of wrong turns and consequently team progress has stalled. My best team is now 45th and just hasn't had the form players at the right time, it's been very frustrating. So I will have to console myself that this SL is the most important and if I win it gives me back to back titles and the bragging rights, that's why I started playing FF. Not a whole lot else to brag about though.

But at least the Saints are back in the PL. :D :D :D

I did Evans to Terry yesterday so 1 transfer left to cover any injury. Back up to 209th after another brace from Cisse which leaves me 89 clear of 4th.
