This is one of those weeks where a lot of my players play against each other. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

eg
Chelsea v Everton (Lampard vs LeScott)
Portsmouth v Man City (Campbell, Benjani vs Elano, Dunne)
Man U v Blackburn (Tevez v Bentley)

The good games for me are Reading v Arsenal and Birmingham v Villa

So here are the dilemas. I have 2 Villa defenders, do I play them both against Brum, rather than fill another slot with a defender who won't get a CS if my midfield or forwards score?

Is it worth playing Bentley away against Man U?

Is it worth playing Dunne even if he doesn't get a CS as he often gets bonii?

Should I captain Fabregas against Reading or is there a chance he'll be rested because of his 4 yellows?

Just had a look at your squad and it's certainly tricky. :?

I'd defintely bench Lescott but after that I'm not sure. I'd play the 2 Villa defenders myself, but who knows how that game's going to pan out? You may as well play Bentley since Blackburn are doing well and United have started leaking goals again, so he may nick something.

It's the Portsmouth game that's the problem. I'd stick both defenders in and hope for the best. Just don't blame me when it finishes 1-1. :P

I'd consider no clean sheets in four to be leaking, although perhaps I'm just being pessimistic.

Problem with dropping Lescott is that he is always a goal threat. They may not keep a clean sheet - but what if he scores? I would play Lescott, personally. But then SgB is rather good at fantasy football

Edit: I take Portsmouth to beat Man City.

Agreed the Pompey v City game is the tricky one.
Pompey doing well away and City doing well at home.
0-0 draw? :?

Perhaps , but you need only look at viddle's darts sidecomp to see how often I pick the wrong captain or leave high scoring players on the bench in FPL.

In short, ignore me SF, my predictions are generally shite.

I've got no players playing against each other as long as I remember to drop Yobo and Niemi to the bench (if they're still in my side, that is!)

FWIW, I'd go with your GW12 team, SF (transfers notwithstanding).

I am afraid I can't ever really offer you anything too constructive regarding your individual team SF, because your www link takes me to the Euro game. Sorry.

Blackburn play well against United, maybe not win, but do well- remember the last person to score a hattrick against United at OT?

DAVID BENTLEY

And play all you're United players as it's turned into a 4 goal spree at OT recently

I also have the Pompey v City conundrum- i'll play James and Elano, but then shall I play Richards?

Or should I play Lescott v Chelsea, a goal threat yes and Everton, I think from memeory keep it pretty tight against Chelsea in the past.... BUT will Chelsea do another 6-0 especially as Everton play Nuremberg on Thursday away. I'll put in Richards and if he doesn't play, then no worries and he's not scored a goal yet.

Also- rest Fabregas because of yellow??????

Looking for some advice on my transfer for this tricky gameweek. After some consideration the move I am considering is:

Ingimarrson  Knight
Lescott  Clichy

Am I wrong to be fed up with Lescott? I like the occasional goal that he scores but Everton can't keep a clean sheet to save their lives & now seems to be a good time to sell him as his value appears to be maxed out.

I'm going with those moves as well to try to bring in as many players as possible from Villa and the Arse to maximize for the double. Next week I was thinking to do something along the lines of:

Dunne  Toure/Gallas/Sagna
McShane  Bouma

Thoughts?

PS - On the Fabregas 4 yellow card deal -- why would Wenger sit him out if the 4 yellows stay on his record anyways? Forgive me if thats a stupid question -- I am still relatively new to following footie and not sure I'm following the logic there.

Your right on The Fabregas part. I think some people are suggesting that wenger asks him to take a booking to miss an "easier" game.

I can't see him being asked to do it anyway, so you'll be fine I think.

Any thoughts on my transfer dilemma? I'm about to start my own thread if I don't get at least one person to give me a piece of their mind :)

It's a tough one all right.

I'd play 3-4-3 with Lescott, Laursen, and Campbell at the back. Everton will most likely concede against Chelsea, however, Lescott could get some points from a goal or an assist.

I wouldn't play two Villa defenders because I reckon Villa could concede against Birmingham in their local derby.

Finally, I'd play Campbell as he's the most likely to keep a clean sheet, IMO.

And I'd play Bentley v Man U.

I'd do these transfers this gameweek:
Ingimarrson  Bouma
Bouma's looking to go up in price 0.1 in the next few nights, while Knight is a long way from a rise. You'll save yourself 0.1 that way
Dunne  Toure/Gallas/Sagna
I reckon Man City will concede away at Portsmouth, while Lescott could knick a goal against Chelsea (though it's more likely Chelsea will keep a clean sheet).

Next gameweek I'd do:
Lescott  Clichy
McShane  Knight

(all transfers subject to your available funds of course)

Thanks for the advice, well done URKiddingMe...

Just realized that I have two players from Villa already -- anyone think McCartney or Upson are worth a shyte?

Pluses:
Next game is Derby away,
Good keeper in Green behind them,
McCartney is scoring goals, and Upson got an assist recently.

Minuses:
Next game is Derby away,
Tough fixtures after the Derby game.

Can I get some suggestions too? :D

For the ones in a hurry
Which one would you bench:
bouma (2nd villa def to play), petrov, benjani.

For the ones bored
my team is
james, [schmeichel]
gallas, laursen, bouma, carvalio, [baines]
fabregas, petrov, ronaldo, lampard, [dempsey]
tevez, agboniahor, benjani

I believe the ones in [] are the obvious to bench. still missing another sub (who will define the formation as well)

thanks...

Chelsea vs Everton
Chelsea have been very tight in defence recently, but after losing Cech to injury against Schalke, they may be in trouble. Last time Cudicini was in goals he let in 3 from Leicester city. Also, Lampard was abit out of sorts against Wigan last weekend. Wouldn't think captain material...

Everton may have scored 3 goals against Birmingham, but two were in the last 5 mins of the game. Yakubu is starting to hit some form. Everton's defence has always been questionable. Have to go with Chelsea at home with both teams scoring...

2-1

Portsmouth vs Manchester City
Portsmouth are very good at home and playing very well. Last time Manchester city played away from home, they lost 6-0. I think Man City have had too many home games, and wil definitely struggle against an in-form Portsmouth, especially if Micah Richards is still injured.

Portsmouth for easy win..

2-0

Manchester United vs Blackburn
Manchester United will still be relishing the good performance against Arsenal and go into this game with confidence. Blackburn have struggled in attack. I think manchester will sneak a win out of this one...

1-0

Thanks URkiddingME.

I was hoping to hear benching Petrov was a good option... that way I would be cheering for PO (no petrov vs james) and max villa def points in case of CS.

That way I find my pints at the pub more enjoyable! :D (I am not sure if I am making sense here!!)

Great input... any on Birmingham v Aston Villa? Lot of us have more than one villa defender (who's idea was it these villa blocks anyway?! :D ) and will help us decide.
