Mixed start for me this week.

Brought Poulter into lots of my Golf Genius teams and he's doing cr*p (one over today already  ).

However my top OFL team has Jacq and Lima  in it, so watch them crash and burn over the next 3 days

Poulter - im still unsure about him!
Is he just a show pony or has he the talent/deadication to become a regular top ten player?

He's a Clothes horse / show pony. Very talented, granted but way too flakey to ever win a Major or be a regular top 10 player.

Yey! Congrats to Jose Filipe Lima, great 2nd place to secure his card. What a drive on the last.

Before this week he had amassed -10 points

Had him in a fair few of my teams at the start, long gone in all bar one, and thanks to Ruiji Imada's withdrawl earlier in the week, he made it into my top six :D .

Nice to get the luck going with me for a change, usually goes the other way in OFL.

Well Done with Lima, Toffee.

I ditched him this week (for Jacq) after having him all season, so I think you owe me one there!!

Nudging, but not overtaking, Spireite

No. 4 position is what's stopping you.

Top effort for a 22 man league though, shame there's not a prize for us to battle over :(

Yeah we have teams flying, all in the top 17 of the overall. 5th 11th (mine, and 17th. We were the 3 who had Zach for the masters, the rest of the teams have all done really well at times but lack the consistency. We all have bad weeks of course though, i only scored 20 point sin the double week at SawGrass. We need one of the boys - Ben Sam Andrew or Phil perhaps to come out of the pack at Carnoustie.

If it wasnt for us though you would have it tied up already.

I have got fairly lucky in the last few weeks as i have had Mahan and Austin sat in my squad all season without doing much. They have earnt their place sin the last 3 weeks though.

Excellent 91 points for you this week

It really helps if one of your lesser stars steps up and bags a top three slot, as you can make up a fair bit of ground in the "quiet" weeks (this week I went from 28th to 14th thanks largely to Lima).

However, for any of us to catch the top couple of guys a good performance at The Open and the USPGA is critical.

Fingers crossed.

agreed. Which is why i have to stick with the tiger.
Surely a lot of these boys near the top will have a bad week when neither of their big guns hit the front.
Tiger will win one of the last 2 majors i think. He has finished 2nd twice when everyone reckons he has been poor. Well what happens if he is good.
and my transfer situation is good with 18 left to make many options possible late on in the season. Tiger return for the event in ten days... no need for transfers before the open.
Trevor gets his last chance for em this season. He has been my one disappointment this season. however the only similar value players worth looking at are casey and Cabrera

Are you serious about the Top 2?

I persoanlly don't think that either of them have a good chance at all of winning overall.

With only 7 & 8 transfers left and all the teams being transparent this year they will be at the mercy of all chasing teams.

Add into that the the Fedex cup format and they are not really the top of the table.

Any less than 13 transfers at the moment and you are on thin ice (13 said for effect as I know you have 12 & 11!)

Tony Munaghan will definitely be thereabouts as he has 2 teams up there and transfers to use and is very good at picking a strong line up.

I am around 300 points down in 200th and haven't given up yet. just need to work at scoring between 50-100 point in each of the single point weeks and you will make 100-150 of the points up on teams.

Last 8 weeks of seasons will see you climbwhen the transfers dry up.

Good luck toffeeboy you ave a strong chance especially now that the useless Lima has decided to play some golf!

i have 18 transfers left and am in 11th place,

when i said top 2 i was referring to the 2 top players they have instead of woods..

the fed ex cup format is why i am holding onto my transfers. and the need to then switch for the european run in

Nice one - then you are indeed in a great position.

Warning from experience. As you get later in the season dont be tempted to use the transfers to swap players for the single value events just because you think they have a better chance.

It was my downfall - I led at one stage with less than 10 weeks left and it really could make the difference. Even more so where you could easily copy another team come the last weeks if you have an advantage on them and they have no transfers.

Good Luck - Woods early baby is a real blessing as I think it almost ensures his participation in the event he must come in the top 3 in and once people have Woods out of there team it costs them 3 transfers to get him back

I will keep an eager eye out on your process. You & Toffeehead are going to be my interest rather than my poor showing. ALthough hope springs eternal.

Duke
Jacquelin

Not surprising he won, considering this stat from Golf Week :shock: ;

Little wonder Hunter Mahan won the Travelers Championship. The putting statistics tell the story, as they do most weeks. Mahan made 60 of 60 putts from 8 feet or less.

I once made 24 on the trot from 8ft or less but then 3 putted 3 holes on the trot. I had gone 5 rounds without a 3 putt. Thought I had it sussed.

Come to think of it I must have been hitting the ball awful to have not scored better.

60 out of 60 is OBSCENE!!!!!!
