I saw a bit of it last night, starting look very tired, just rehashing what has gone before. I'm suprised one of the stars hasn't quit yet.

I watched it all, and its still one of my fav programmes that doesn't include any sport!! This episode is worth watching just for Clarkson going nuts in a Robin Reliant!! Did you catch that bit murf?

Was a bit too staged again. Could do with discussing average man's cars, instead of repeating a bentley discussion. Could do with talking about new technologies etc, electric cars, hybrids a bit more than they have etc. As for the volcano bit? Did theyrun out of material for the show or something?

Hammond for me. He has enough irons in fires to be fine without Top Gear. In fact I guess they all do really.

I stopped watching it a few series back as it seems to be the same format each time, a few reviews of expensive cars, the odd family car thing and lots of highly unlikely scenarios (anyone remember the one where the caravan/tent got set on fire by 'accident'...). Oh, that and the fact that Clarkson is an arrogant, idiotic, Neanderthal!

Template for a Clarkson car review: if you don't like the car - talk about it positively for the first few minutes before letting rip; if you like the car - slate it in the opening segment before making silly faces to camera while driving it too fast. End.

James May always steals the show for me - the Icelandic volcano bit was excellent. The rest of the programme was so-so. The best episodes are the challenges and they are probably running out of ideas.

PS What's happened to Hammond's hair ?

I don't know what he's trying to do with it - grow it long, I think, but it looks considerably worse than May's barnet now.

Isn't it fair to say that he's never looked the same since his accident? He just sort of looks older or more fragile like he's permanently in shock or something.

Yet again, the show was about cars that only bankers can afford. Joke, there are other cars out their. Why don't they try the IMiev or family cars like saab, ford, vauxhall etc..

Because that would be boring
It's primarily an entertainment show these days and i for one like seeing all the fantastically expensive cars

Anyone see last nights episode rates to me as one of the best ever, great cars great guests and a brilliant piece on Senna. 8-)

It was good (but I'm a fan).

Not sure why the bit was in about Senna. There was barely mention of all his mega-charities. His death was marked with the same sort of out-pouring of public grief as there was about Diana over here.

Also, the 2 guests. Top of the leader-board? A little bit too nice for me. I know Tom Cruise did part of it on 2 wheels, and Cameron Diaz does know a bit about cars, but it just seemed a bit co-incidental that the 2 biggest stars to appear on the show are also the 2 quickest. Hmmm.

(Liked James May's bit in the new improved Veyron)

I was going to post something similar, but as it is the first episode I have seen this series, I didn't think I was qualified to comment! Even my wife was glued to it, so it must have been good. Clarkson interviewed Cruise and Diaz well. Showed he was genuinely in awe of having them there, without being too gushing and didn't arse-lick them at all. Diaz is still a stunner.

As mentioned, both Cruise and Diaz have received top class driving skill tuition recently for their film. Couple that with The Stig and I find it fairly feasible, although they only showed the finish line of Cruise from behind for the two wheel shot, and I was half expecting them to then go on and say "now let's show the real timed lap", because to be a second faster with that happening was difficult to believe.

James May towards the end was a cracking feature, and I bet the other two we gagging to get that little gig.

The bit on Senna was a bit arse licky but their could be no doubting his brilliance and hero like status in his own country. I remember stopping up to watch that Japanese GP decider and the way he ran Prost off the road was just disgraceful. Then again, genuis is always going to be tainted...

The show has picked up again this year and it was a real coup to get Diaz and Cruise on :D

Brilliant show last night, the Senna tribute was excellent, watching the way he made the car dance around was brilliant. Worth bearing in mind that they drove with manual gears, no traction control and much more horse power in his era, it truly was a golden era for Drivers (Prost, Lauda, Piquet, Villeneuve, Mansell, Rosberg etc) to be considered the best of those by some distance is a mark of the man. Formula one now is a pale shadow of the 80's now.

Brilliant to see the absolute joy of Lewis Hamilton in being able to drive Senna's car for just a few laps too.

What made it truly special TV for me was the wife, daughter & daughter's boyfriend all watching spellbound by Senna, none are interested in cars or Top Gear.

The Diaz / Cruise section was great fun & a great contrast to the Senna tribute and watching James May in the Bugatti Veyron :D

Top telly, if you missed it - its repeated tonight.

Watched Sherlock afterwards - great new drama, very Dr Who-esque & topped off the evening with the IT Crowd. TV Heaven 8-)

And apparently this particular episode won't be repeated after this evening - certainly not in its entirety - due to copyright issues with all of the F1 footage.

Enjoyed the episode immensely, as I always do. The anniversary of Senna's death was over 2 months ago though.. :?

Pretty poor that Stig has been allowed to reveal his identity, it will be interesting to see how Clarkson & Co react to this.

Indeed, magical times.

I still remember the moment it was announced he had died, my dad and I were both devastated, him particularly.

A real sporting icon, RIP Ayrton.

I would like to know whether it was in Ben Collins's contract from the start whether he could or could not reveal his identity. If the answer was no, then Collins has been a bit naughty. James May denied it was Collins on radio 5 yesterday, saying it was an imposter. I'm sure they will think of another idea....

After Schumacher's season this year maybe they will use him.

Just hope they don't invite Rubens Barrichello back then
