A starter for 10. I'm assuming O'Toole will get the transfer to sheffield united that he wants.

Might be best to avoid Fryatt for now. He's got a leg infection and is missing most of pre-season and knowing Fryatt, I doubt he will be fully fit come the start of the season.

Tunchev > Hobbs as well.

big changes based on the possibility that there are no assists in this game, and that Andy Carroll doesn't get a transfer to West Ham....I think he could be useful at this level.

I'm having a go at this game as well.

I'd be extremely surprised if there are no assists in this game, have we had confirmation of this yet?

Also, isn't Kenny up on a banned substances charge or something?

Thanks. I wouldn't mind him back at Watford, he's a reasonable championship level full-back.

I really can't see Stephen Hunt being at Reading for long. Rumours last week suggested a possible swap for David Nugent (Portsmouth) but if anybody offers a reasonable sum he will be off. Also, Hunt's form after Jan 2009 was truly truly shocking until he finally got dropped by Steve Coppell.

In summary, certainly not likely to be a season starter, as Brendan Rodgers has gone 4-3-3 with two wide players supporting a lone striker in attack. None of those positions would be filled by Hunt.

His brother Noel Hunt is in the mix for the main striker slot along with Shane Long and Simon Church but, to be honest, I wouldn't really be looking at us (Reading) for attacking value as we have lots of youngsters who will need to gel and acclimatise to this standard of competition.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, that does help, I had completely forgotten Hunts form went off.

Straightforward to do Hunt  Brunt, but leaves me a little West Brom heavy in midfield, although both Koren and Brunt are good players at this level.

Would definitely rate Brunt over Hunt, in fact I would rate him as one of the most likely to do well. Maybe Koren could be swapped out if, like me, you try to spread it around a few clubs. Might be worth checking out Kevin Nolan's form etc?

I'm currently on 4-3-3 myself, still time to tinker but think I'll be sticking with that!

As a Watford fan, I am hoping to save some cash on a Watford enabler before the 15 August.

Keeping an eye on:
Cowie 1.6m (if Tommy Smith goes) - useful young Scots winger
O'Toole 1.8m (if he goes to Sheffield U)
and Graham, striker signed from Carlisle 1.8m - scored one in 3 at a lower level.

If 'Duke' Ellington can win over fans and manager may also be a steal at 2.5.

As it happens, your boys hold the key for me in two ways: if Tommy Smith joins us or somebody good, I plan to have him in. That then allows me to include Danny Graham, who looks excellent value to me if he plays.

If Smith doesn't move on by next weekend, I will review my thoughts on both him and Graham.

I quite liked Simon Cox (WBA) earlier in the week but now they have him, Reuben Reid, Beattie, Miller, Moore and Bednar I'm not convinced about his game time so will monitor that for a few weeks first.

I'm happy with my GK, defence and midfield at this stage, so not planning major change. As you put so much time and effort in to helping us on TFC and TFF, I'm not going to hide my provisional line up from you Tommy!

£2.5m
Carson, S
£2.5m
Wheater, D
£2.7m
Kilgallon, M
£2.1m
Taylor, R
£2m
Pearce, A
£1.9m
Brunt, C
£3.5m
Morrison, J
£2.8m
Ward, J
£1.7m
Hulse, R
£4.1m
Smith, T
£4.1m
Graham, D
£1.8m

Cheers!

Is Ward nailed on for his place?

Also, I missed how cheap Killgallon is, surely underpriced!

I've been toying with Rob Hulse, and I might still try and get Smith in, if he stays

Not sure Ward will be nailed on but his record would suggest plenty of potential to score steadily. With Henderson unfit and Sharp transfer listed I'd say he would be a fairly safe bet, at least for now...a striker at a decent club at the cost of a low-valued midfielder. Kilgallon does look to be priced very well, doesn't he.

In addition to Hulse and Smith, it could now also be worth thinking about Lita (likely to be main striker at Boro) or Parry at Preston too.

And, of lesser importance probably, it looks like Mills (Doncaster centre back) could be a Reading player within 48 hours for a fee in the region of £2 million.

Good luck Tommy...and apologies as a Reading fan for luring away Rodgers, who I'm delighted to have as our new manager.

Who did you start with in the end Tommy?

I got off to a good start, but have probably peaked already

£28.1m - 52 points - position 188

Same team as I originally planned except Adam Johnson in for James Morrison and Michael Chopra in for injured Rob Hulse, who is now back anyway!

Well the team changed quite a lot in the last week or so.

Cerny
Kilgallon, Rosenior, Wheater, Mattock
Brunt, Koren, McCann, Boyd
Smith, Graham (for when smith goes to Reading  )

Not a bad start for you then. And Smith sent you a nice parting present with tonight's contribution :D

My lucky assortment did me proud tonight with 8 goals, a couple of clean sheets, and hopefully some assists. Oh...and a missed pen...but can't really grumble about Adam Johnson

8 goals! Staggeringly good night! Mr Chopra I presume?
