I will be joining

Leavin it a little later to decide on the doughnuts that I can afford outside Woods.

Will be entering 2 sides (1 for the wife - though she doesn't know yet!). Second side will be Woodless.
Harrington, immelman, ogilvy, chad campbell, olazabal and a n other assuming the finances alow (Possibly Donald).
Basically a team with no chance but a certain sense of loyalty to the europeans.

Dont mind leaving woods out o f a team it hasnt cost me to enter. Just painful for the £15 entry ones!

Anyone got any tips on this, and fantasy golf in general. I know nothing about golf, but still want to give this a go.

In fantasy golf points are only scored by position in the tournament, so a quick look at the stats will tell you a lot more about who to pick than in FF

Have a look at the order of merit (money won) and the recent finishes of the players and their stats on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, which will give you an idea of who is on form this year, and a look at last years stats will tell you who did well last year and give you an idea of who the quality players are.

If you want to go into more detail find out a bit more about the course that the events are being played on (there is an event list on the todays golfer site, link at the top of this page), and then have a look at the sites above for stats on the players, if it is a long course then players with a longer driving distance tend to do better, whereas more accurate drivers usually do better on shorter courses.

The Masters (the first event) is being played at Augusta, which is a very long course - 7,445 yards (7200+ yards is long) so the longer hitters usually do better. This isn't always the case though, in majors (US Open, The Open, Masters & USPGA) expect the quality players to come through, even if the course doesn't suit them - Tim Clark is a relatively short hitter but has finished 2nd and 3rd in the last two masters on a long course
