This also gives some bearing on Fantasy League Golf player pricing for the coming year (although the top players will be priced slightly lower and much can happen in the next 4-6 weeks).

Thanks for that Mr G. I have a cunning plan this year for Fantasy League Golf and I just checked to make sure that all the players I have in mind were on the list, which they are, except for one that is.

Standout amateur Peter Uihlein has turned Professional.

The former No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking signed with ISM, the same management firm that currently represents Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke and Charl Schwartzel among others. Uihlein will make his pro debut at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. His first goal is to establish membership on the European Tour. "I had a great 3 1/2 years at Oklahoma State," he said in a release. "The school and the program were great for me, and I believe I contributed to the program’s tradition. (But) I wanted to have the full calendar year to start the next chapter in my life and not start midseason. The coaches at Oklahoma State understood my decision." Uihlein will exit the amateur ranks at seventh in the WAGR. He's currently 884th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Yep - he didn't make it through Q-School and therefore is playing in the lower reaches for now (but admittedly is still likely to bag a few invites to main tour events). If he promotes himself up to category 12 or above, then he'll be added. Simples.

Another notable omission is Fred Couples, who is no longer exempt in categories 1-30 on the PGA Tour. Having said that, I also chucked out Senior Tour regulars such as Bernhard Langer and Ian Woosnam on the strength that they'll only play the odd event - down to the fact that I wanted the TG and FL Golf player lists to mirror each other (but not necessarily the prices).

On that note, I still wouldn't say that a "Guess the Price" competition for FL Golf is a complete waste of time...

Main FL Golf game was launched on 17 March in 2011, three weeks before the first counting event, the US Masters.

Augusta Major tees off in five weeks, 5 April, so maybe there's still time for someone to run a price guess contest?

Okay I'll do it again, I suppose a few golfers will have been re-evaluated since January.
