What are people's views on Vermaelen? A good buy at 5m with his goal scoring abilities and Arsenal in Europe or plain risky due to his injuries?

If I do my other 2 planned transfers then I have 5m left over for a defender so am thinking about him. Am winning my mini league by 50 points odd so just trying to work out if he's that much of a risk

If you are in front in a work's minileague I would be attempting to neutralise any threat from those below me - the old blocking tactic.

If people below you haven't got him and you suspect they are not bring him in then stay clear. I would be inclined to bring in someone that your closest rivals have (and intend to keep).

He's a favourite of reporters, but Arsenal are missing so many defenders at the moment that they are not so good value for getting clean sheets, so it's a risk. If they tighten up, he could turn into a points machine again, as he can get the odd goal too.

I've got him and am keeping him now that Sagna is back. Probably wishful thinking that the clean sheets will start stacking up, but then again he rates well most of the time and he's got goalscoring potential.

Worth having I think.
