I must have swapped betwen Johnson and Bale at least a dozen times tis morning. Eventually opted for Bale.

Just in case anyone is wondering why he hasn't scored or assisted yet, that is...

Great opening game (half game) for the season! Bale looks terrific as do BAE and Hart.

He already has, and if you can't see that, bummer for you. With no FPL points yet, maybe this looks like a boring match to you.

Assou-Ekotto got a lot of stick for his efforts in the WC, but was it just me  or was he actually Cameroon's best player right up until the bitter end? He was involved in everything, all the time, and save for a few positioning erros didn't do much wrong I thought.

I think this is how Spurs should play, with BAE as LB.

I agree with you on BAE's effort in the WC. Been burned badly enough by him in FPL to stay away for a season or two longer though

Tevez and Silva are both short of match-fitness, SWP shouldn't be on the pitch and starting with Gareth Barry as a winger is pure madness.

I think City can do better as the season progresses. 8-)

Tough luck for Bale so far but his performance proves he'll score good points this season, at least enough to justify his price. He still has a whole half and is a bonus candidate, specially if Spurs win. Got Dawson too, and the few chances Man. City had so far shows how good it is to have a Tottenham defender on the team, pretty confident he can walk with 6 points today.

Apart from Hart (what a player), Bale's been the best player on the pitch. Great to see him doing well, but agonising to see him put almost win a penalty, hit the post, and put in SO many crosses that are almost converted! Get yerself some points on the board son!

Exactly how I feel! Especially because, after all that, if he scores he will surely pick up the 2 or 3 boni

Terrific start to season, wonderful football from Spurs, but Hart and Toure keeping them out. Be great if this is standard we can expect.
Some of Harts saves just exceptionable and its so good to watch Spurs playing with such a freedom, taking chances, going all out for a win.

So apparently, Schwarzer has failed his fitness-test and won't feature today. :?

Someone please tell me it was still a brill idea to invest 5.0 in him, hoping he'd sod off to Arsenal sometime soon.

I think him "failing" the test and his Transfer Request are somewhat related

Interesting to see what Ancelotti does to try and deal with Bale. Everything coming from there for Spurs. Wonder what the rest of MF has to offer. Not really been examined by MC.

As a small consolation to Kolarov-related gloom, City has started the 2nd looking a lot less hopeless.

A. Johnson is about to come on. Ridiculous that he didn't start, but better late than Wright-Phillips.
