What's happening ? :evil:

Where are all the currency fluctuations that have forecd the price up this week ? :evil: :evil:

Why is is so much more expensive than petrol ?

Or am I being cynical and now that a lot more people drive diesel powered cars, the price has suddenly shot up. Rip off Britain strikes again :evil:

Last Sunday i filled up at Asda in Basildon Essex at 128.7 pence per litre unleaded as i was driving to Herefordshir for a couple of days away with the wife.

The general price of Petrol in Wales for unleaded was a numbing 140.pence per lite
what a eff rip off for the sheep shaggers.

i stuck in 20 quid on way back at a station that was charging abour 136 pence per litre

and i thought the prices were i live were bad.

My local garage is 145.9 for diesel at the moment - 8 miles down the road, the usually cheap Morrisons, is 142.9.

Not sure what is pushing the price up again.

My lecy bill just came through with a mid-term price increase - on the form it says we used 8.82 units a day for this period last year, 8.36 for the last period and 7.98 for this period which shows we are reducing our electricity usage. On the bill it is estimated up to the day of the price change at an average of 7.77 units before the increase and 8.83 at the higher new rate. This puts about £8 on the bill over an average 8.3 units a day - multiply this by everyone they do this to and that's a nice little earner.

I've just switched from petrol to diesel and noticed at the pumps today that diesel was a whopping 9p more than unleaded.

So...

Why when diesel is supposed to be greener - the main reason I switched was saving money on company car (and fuel allowance) tax which is based on the philosophy of emissions and diesels being better - why don't the government balance the fuel tax at the pumps to make diesel cheaper and ebcourage us all to switch and have cleaner lungs?? It is far cheaper than unleaded (30p/litre??) on the continent every time I go abroad.

Would also help our struggling haulage industry.

Clocked the prices at the cheapest petrol station on the island on Thursday:

Unleaded = 142.9 p/l
Diesel = 152.9 p/l

A round trip to town now costs me about £8 in fuel.

It is the people switching to diesel that has pushed the price up (well higher than unleaded) :wink:
