This is the only tournament that matters... Can Rory deliver @ 5/1 odds?

One soft tournament victory on an easy US Open course and the bookies have dubbed him the NEW Tiger Woods

So much value to be had across the board.

Top 10

Sergio 25/1
Miguel Jimeneth 125/1
Westwood 10/1
Day 30/1
Qweeros 60/1
Peter 100/1
The Goose 50/1
SY Noh 150/1
Zach 100/1
YE Yang 80/1

Qurios and Day will probably be seeing some of my money.

Edit: I think you are being a tad unfair on Rory, Kdub - with the soft win comment.

Kdub's just miffed he never got a signed hat from him after overlooking his prospects.

I don't know whether Day got the lucky or unlucky side of the draw last year to know how his performance stood up. I had him at 50/1 for US Open but not sure 30s for The Open is that generous.

I'm off to snaffle some Manassero at 40/1 Top 6 with PP.

You have a good memory...

But I did get a few photos with Rory.

The biggest question going into this week is in OFL Fantasy Golf... To Rory or "not to Rory" ? That is the question...

Good value at the bookie, I'd fancy:
Stenson, 40:1
Oosthuizen, 66:1
Overton 100:1
All worth a P, especially top 5 to 1/5 8-)

All a matter of opinion but I would put all three of those in the "Bottle it at big ones" category

(Yes, i know Oosthuizen won it last year but what's he done since)
Recent record shows

Maybank Malaysian Open 17/04/2011 72nd

I think the Open will be a very sentimental occasion this year following the death of Severiano Ballesteros & I think we'll end up with a rather tearful Spanish Champion - Garcia & Larrazabal look most likely, I'd really like Sergio to win it.

ANelka must be practicing for his FISO title defense

Sergio is a changed man this season... Might need to update my avatar to El Nino once he wins a major.

It's a long-running debate, but I still fancy young Matteo to win a Major well before Sergio...

Agreed, Sergio will need the rest to lose it, rather than him winning it.

Suspect Garcia will hit the ball superbly from tee to green then not hole anything at all.

I walked round St George's in late April, it was already starting to get burnt out then, guess it will be like concrete by now.

Most of the green's have significant run off, like trying to land on up-turned saucers, so shortgame will be key. Par 3's are generally very long, guess that will be to Sergio's advantage.

I like those 3 selections for top 10

Stenson has been showing some "fire" in his attitude... He wants to reach the success that is expected of him...

(reminds me of a story when I had ONE hat left... two players emerge from the tent... I have a choice of either Stenson or Kaymer)

Normal each way terms on investments on golf tournaments are quarter the odds on the top 5 finishers.

Already I have seen offers for the Open from:-
Bet 365 1/4 odds top 6
Paddy Power 1/4 odds top 7
Boylesports 1/4 odds top 8

C'mon Freddie Jacobsen!!

I'm pretty sure the winner will indeed have parents.

I think we're in for another obscure winner but I think Mickelson was right when he said that next weeks winner will have played in Scotland this week.

I'm still in disbelief about Sergio being 20/1 to win this week.

This is like the OLD El Nino ... Before his mental game collapsed, we thought he was the next Tiger Woods.

Still major-less, these are the LOWEST odds I've ever seen on him.

Either the Seve effect is happening or he's queitly in the form of his life?

This is where my £2 will be going.

I'll also have a look at McIlroy to be first round leader.

10/1 he is best price for first round leader, I read last night....

I'm thinking on McDowell (33s), Peter Hanson (70s) as good ew's and an outsider of Coetzee at 300s has been in good form since winning his qualifying for the open a few weeks back, two top 3's in 3 weeks and a number of top 15 in recent weeks.

And a very good read it is too.

It seems there is one player in the world top 100 currently available at 750-1.

Have invested a couple of quid, you never know!
