not the British open . THE open

Ok after my lesser guys have dug me out of a whole the last few weeks this weekends was a disaster seeing a drop down to 16th.
Dead weight has been moved out but the risk is that the players brought in will be no better. Although how you can be worse than Trevor i wait and see- 7 points from 9 events.

Ok

open team

Woods
Els
Poulter
Fasth
Rose

and one of Zach, mahan, and Havret

still have 14 changes left and plan on only 1 in a couple of weeks for the next double pointer

so, Furyk and Mickleson to mess up please

FS Record: Fantasy league golf -Open winner 07. Husband of Callaway wedge winner Todays golfer 08. T-shirt winner Pro Golf 08. WOW!
Top 5 look great -cannot vouch for any of the other 3 though - can you not transfer one of them to get a stronger player?
Failing that then Havret seems the most likely (Playing well and not a dodgy yank that will be distraught at having greens where they need to pitch the ball 60 yrds short).
Richard Green could be ok?

Sorry - poor & tenuous link/joke

How tough are those last 3 holes

Already cost me dearly with too many of my fantasy players  .

Still, I guess it evens out over the tourni.

A bit up and down. Got all excited when new signing and each way bet KJ Choi went off like a steam train. Still in there but other new signings Fasth and Sterne disappointed big time. Going to be COLD tomorrow, but dry I think. Saturday WET AND WINDY :)

Anybody got Garcia?

My teams:

V Singh
J Furyk
H Stenson
N Fasth
J Kelly
R Sterne

T Wood
S Cink
KJ Choi
J Rose
R Sabbatini
R Sterne

Got the following team in 103rd place;
    Garcia
    Woods
    Furyk
    O'Hair
    Verplank
    Sterne

Sterne's problem was sand today - only got up and down once from 4 bunkers :(

See even Tiger was 0 from 2 in this department

Best to keep out of them, I guess :)

I assume you all know that the BBC are showing the TV coverage online this week? Also the R&A have a cracking little live scoring console. Even flashes up on the course guide when somebody birdies, bogies etc etc.

I hope Garcia keeps it going. Always strikes me as a really top bloke who hasn't quite fulfilled his potential. Bit of a fidget when watching him, though!

Top 3 look decent picks toffeeover, and Furyk has made a decent start. Luke Donald +4 on the front 9, including an 8 on the par 5 6th

Wahayyy.. Just had some fun. I launched the live golf console on the BBC website, which plays it from within the browser. But, I prefer to watch it in the standalone Real Player player, and both were showing on screen with about half a second delay - and Peter Alliss sounded as though he was in a big stadium with loads of echo.

Sabbatini was going well... than a quadruple bogie 8 followed by a triple bogie 7 kind of ruined things for him.

I always get confused by the cut rules. Now Sergio's in with -6, assuming no-one tops that today does that pretty much define the cut at +3?

No, I don't think the 10 shot rule counts, it's top 70 and ties I think.

Indeed - there's no 10 shot rule, just the top 70 and ties. It looks fairly certain that the cut will be +4 by the end of the day, but more likely +5 than +3.

Not Tiger - he's nowhere near...

But the list of likely casualties is quite fearsome:

McDowell
Sabbatini
Love III
Toms
Mickelson
Ogilvy
Stenson
Zach Johnson

Luke Donald's on the cusp as well

With the imrpoving conditions the cut has come down to +3 at the minute.

Tiger is struggling big time! Nice sunny weather though! I have a few doing OK... Furyk, Choi, Cink, Rose, Fasth but, of course, not all in the same team!

If the cut remains at +3 Tiger needs to watch it... very, very easily lost two shots on one hole!

well for the first time this season all 6 have made the cut

and if it wasnt for that lefty weir i wd have had nonus with Fasth

Only els is currently in the top 20. However with 6 in for the weekend i would be unlucky not to have at least 2 in the points by the end of the tourny

i still think +5 will make it. But i dont need it to

Still needs another couple of players to drop shots to make it +5

Just noticed that Weir stuffed things for me too, Fasth and Choi! In different teams admittedly, but what really hurts is that Weir is sitting on my bench in the Fasth team!

2 players on the last hole one at +3 and one at +4 if they, looks like the cut is going to be +4.

not too sure on that because McIlroy is an amatuer and he does not count , so it could be +5

I think the wording is top 70 PROFESSIONALS and ties
