Well boys and girls... :)

This is my current team. I'm happy with it... in general.
Of course there are a few concerns and wishes, but overall... :)

So far I have accumulated 198pts (rank 25,000) and my team's value is 101.7m.
I have already played my wildcard on GW2 and suffered no point hits so far.

What do you make of it?

I think your strike force is very good. Im not too sure about valencia in the middle. at the moment i don't think he is VFM ig imo. In defence it is pretty good. My only other concern is about your bench. Albrighton has played a few games under Kevin Macdonald but when villa get a new manager you dont know if he will get played and may drop. Also how long is gomes out for. Other than those little concerns its a great team. Tbh it is an amazing team, you shouldnt need advice when u have got the points you have lol. Anything coming from me my not be good considering how im doing.

Seeing your team after a long time. Very good! Maybe Valencia to Nani.

That's a good, good defence. Who'da thunk?

Should have been faster on the trigger and ship Valencia out for Nani sooner. That hesitation cost me a total of 0.2m now, but since this is the intl break he might drop even more. So decided to cut my losses even now and did the aforementioned swap...
Valencia  Nani
Hopefully Nani will rise and get me some of the money back and maybe if I'm lucky, he'll do well in the next few games.

Thanks for the input boys :)

are you rotating both goalkeepers, because you could have two cheaper goalkeepers, with a better defence. Midfield is very good, soon as you've done the valencia  nani switch, watch valencia hit the big points, happens to me all the time  , strikers are good however, how long will Carroll's form hold on, looks a good pick at the moment though, and unsure about chamakh. Maybe have a look at Ashley Young rather than Nani, was playing just behind the striker against everton. :D

Thanks :)

Regarding those players you mentioned...

Valencia - it is very likely that SAF will let him play at any moment even at the expense of Nani - which I now got. It is also likely that he will suddenly score and get a couple of assists in one game, maybe even the next one. However, I now think he is a very one dimensional player and I suspect SAF thinks so too.
Nani - on the other hand, seems like he finally regains the form he finished with last season. Everton won't be an easy team to beat and Nani's good form might just be the ticket (alongside Berbatov).
Carroll - I'm not extremely fond of this guy, but he is on fire atm and got BPL and a few other good fixtures coming up. As soon as he levels out, he's out.
Chamakh - He is the ultimate CK but now when RVP is iffy again, he might just benefit from this increased MF attention. Ultimately I'd like to have Drogba, Rooney and Tevez up front, but not there yet money wise.
AYoung - He's a great player, very talented... but wasted with two pathetic strikers in Gabby and Carew. He can play 'behind the striker' all he wants, as there is no striker 'ahead' of him.
:)

Sorry am new to this forums and lingo..
Whats CK ?

I like Carroll though - i think he will get 10-15 goals ( 4 already ) ..
and if you managed to get him at 5.0 he is a real steal.
I would still buy him at 5.4 as he is currently ..

Nani Valencia Chamakh A Young - I agree with Ironfist

Ferdinand is playing in a reserve game tonight apparantly. I dont know if this means his comeback is ahead of schedule. This would affect J.Evans. Maybe ferdinand may be back in next few GW's. Would be helpful if a man utd fan could help. I was just letting you know as you have J.Evans.

Ferdinand's return may well influence JEvans and I shall have to make adjustments when that happens. I have 3.7m in the bank so upgrading to Vidic or anyone else for that matter won't be a problem. I would prefer however to keep that money for other purposes in MF or strikers.

Carlos Kickball - an unproven foriegner who just/recently joined the EPL. :)

i agree partly with dandave and ironfist ..
ferdinand should be back next GW ..

also the way zamora ran evans ragged .am sure SAF cant wait to get ferdinand back soon enough ..
immediate ripples were seen in the west ham game, when the task of keeping cole quiet was given to vidic ..and vida did quite well

moreover, i think vida is better bet than ferdinand..

for 2 reasons ..
1- fitness
and 2- he will score more goals than he scored last season ..he is already looking dangerous in the box..

I'm not entirely sure that a ManU defender is a must.

What with rotation issues, even for Vidic, with Evra looking like a ghost of his former self and no attacking spirit, I think that United's strength lies with its MF and Strikers --- FPL wise. Ferdinand is sooooo injury prone and Vidic seems encoumbered with the task of holding the fort with rapidly changing partners... this makes me weary and wary of their defensive standings.

I was considering swapping Evans out a few das ago and bringing Sanga in, despite my reservations with his stability, but decided to hold for now.

In the mean time and during the last few days my team's value has risen to 102.0m, without playing my wildcrad this week (I did on GW2). However looking at my team, I feel it is slightly boring, no major risks or betting on unsung heroes. :)

hey guys ..need some help ..this maynot be the right thread..but its the only1 buzzing where i can expect a reply ..so forgive me already..

i am toying with the idea of getting cheap 4.0 defenders and goalkeepers... and spending the rest on a very attacking forward line ..
has this worked for any1 before ?

I now have a few players in my team I worry about... some because of injuries and others because of fixtures or starting squad issues.
I worry about Gomes, JEvans and even Foley.
But...

Walcott is now red flagged.

I'm considering doing Walcott  Arshavin for a 4 point hit :| is it worth it?

I already have arshavin ..

am thinking about either of milner + 4.0 Def
or Diaby + vidic

As for you , i think arshavin is worth a 4 pt hit - lot of nice fixtures for arsenal to come ..

Fabio called theo , and theo said he will be back in less than 2 weeks ?
that means i lose out on 0.2M ( coz i bought him at 7 , and will have to buy him back in the future at 7.3 )
does that make sense ?

This is my current team;

Image

I'm considering doing;

Arshavin  Fabregas
and (funded by)
Gomes  Stockdale/Carson

What bothers me is that both Gomes & Stockdale are injured/sidelined and I have no idea when either will be back. What do you lads think about this?

Arse is the exciting option, and Fab the trustworthy one.

Is Stockdale the No 1?

Looking more and more like mt squad

Only there is a 20+ point difference between the teams

Do you really think that Arshavin can outscore fabregas?
...and Yes, I want to know the same thing... is Stockdale worth having? and now?

Arsh can be more erratic than Fab, and has been doing OK this season. I am still unconvinced that he is worth the cash, at the moment. But then how can I\we not have FFL or Fab?

Surely Shwartzer must be Fulham's fister?

So Carson would be the choice, he has done OK for me.

20 points is less than one bad banding, which I did earlier

Well, we manageed alright without FFL/Fab so far but FFL seems to be slipping further away and Fab seems to be getting better. Also, Fab's price is now as low as it would probably be all season, that is why I want him.

Surely Shwartzer must be Fulham's fister?
Then why hasn't he played as 1st choice so far? That baffled me too. And now there are rumours about Stockdale being so good, that Capello wants him in the England squad. So I'm still confused.

So Carson would be the choice, he has done OK for me.
I know he did well, but he is an unknown to me so I am hesitant about him and his not-so-exciting team

Gilks for 4.0m? 17 points from 4 games.

Forthcoming fixtures not so good but he has been in sparkling form thus far. And, lets be honest, when do Blackpool's upcoming fixtures look good?

OK lads...

My team is alright, I guess, but the spare money I have in the bank drives me insane.
I also wanted to bring Fabregas in but am not so sure now.

In this pic below I have outlined the players I'm contemplating transferring, with the options I'd like to have. There's 2.7m in the bank and a great need for advice.

Image

Would you please be so kind and tell me what changes I should make to my team, based on these options hereabove. Thanks in advance.
Ironfist
