Ahh the good old stat whores

Don't pick him then :) but playing up as the lone striker Arsenal will create plenty of opportunities for him to score, he is a much better finisher than Bendtner and you saw how many chances he missed last season.. he could of been top scorer!

Why Jaaskelainen? Isn't Foster safer? I thought about it and I think the answer is no. I doubt Birmingham will reproduce their last season's defensive record and Foster... well, he is a bit of an oaf. Jaask is very good preseason and they have reasonable fixtures. I might do my WC asap on the 1st intl break, so another keeper might come in then.
Is Warnock always going to play? :o eek. Don't scare me laddy. Do you know anything that might suggest differently?
Are you ready to drop Evans should he be replaced? Yes. For the first few weeks he is decent enough I guess...
Does Alex feel like a good move at this stage? Don't you want to see how treatment goes? err, it might change of course after the community shield but evidence... I mean rumours on FISO suggest he'll be ready, even before Bosingwa.

Midfield looks good to me, although I've gone Barton rather than Routledge.

Chamakh starting? I for one don't know. If I know Arsenal's style at all, he may only be 100% starting against the 'Pool. I think Chamakh is everything RVP was hoping for in terms of a scoring partner and once he melds in the team game, Wegner won't be stupid enough to take him out.
Rooney starting? Isn't he getting a break for a week or two? I remember SAF saying he wasn't going to get much action until the real intense fixtures started, as their first ones aren't too bad. Rooney is the God of Vengence, watch him enleash hell in the first few GWs
Is Carew a sure thing? If Keane makes the move to Villa, if MoN sticks with 1 (Gabby) up front... too many maybes for me. I think that for now he is quite a safe bet and at least a good potential to score as Agbonlahor. A little gamble too? Perhaps.

Thanks for all the input :)

This is my current team;

A few niggles like Alex' fitness.
I thought of doing Alex  Dann AND Carew  Anelka/(God forbid)Defoe but not yet.

What do you lads think of it?

Alex, who knows if he'll start (Ancellotti is obviously in love with Ivanovic), just bring him in for Evans if he starts to get a run of games (though I suspect Rio might suffer a few setbacks). I have high hopes for Anelka to start the season.

Alex's fitness is certainly a concern. I've taken him out of my current team (can always check back to my RMT for what on earth I had with him if he is likely to start GW1) and tweaked it a bit.
Certainly nothing wrong with Dann, just depends if you want to tweak the structure of your team by swapping an expensive defender for a cheapie.

You know my thoughts on Defoe so I won't even go there! Anelka is unlikely to have a bad season, but is it enough to justify his price? I prefer trying to squeeze Arshavin in somewhere for that kind of money.

I'm a huge opposer of def blocks, and you got 2 of them: Brum and Wolves. Also, question marks on too many players:

Alex :?: :?: :?:
Chamakh :?: :?:
Carew :?:

I personally like the Carew choice, but it's a bit uncertain. Alex you have to get rid, you could even make a few bucks. As for Chamakh, no one knows really how much pitch time he'll get or how well he'll do, but he'd be a great gamble too, if he was the only one.

Personally, I don't rate Givet, and even less the Blackburn fixtures. As for Albrighton, just make sure he'll play. At that price, definitely worth a go.

Agbonlahor's hammy has been playing up pre-season, don't think he has played many (if any) pre-season games- making Carew that little more tempting.

Looks very competitive...

Is Mouyokolo a certain starter?

Regarding AVL... I had Warnock in initially, but then came the news about Collins and Cuellar being injured and now with Oneill's sudden departure, let alone the potential absconding of Milner and AYoung... this team even if no one leaves, will be in dire straights, their confidence shot to bits. not so?

Regarding Mouyokolo... I'm not sure. From the news and rumours gathered, yes he is highly regarded by the Wolves management right alongside Hunt. If it doesn't work, I'll trade him asap.

Made another little tweak to my team...
ACole  Ivanovic
Givet  Samba
That seemed a little more alanced to me.

If Ivanovic plays RB, then I can see the sense in that. At CB he looked a bit dodge and that's coming from a Chelsea fan.

Carlo did say Cech and Alex would be back for Sat if that helps you out.

I think given the performances of Terry and Ivanovic on Sunday (CS or not) and providing he is good to go, Alex will play.

The reason I made these switches and in this contest ACole  Ivanovic, is that as far as I can tell Ivanovic is a guaranteed starter in Chelsea. Due to Alex' absence he started as CB, but if and when Alex returns, he'll be switched to RB where he is even better.
Last season Ivanovic was very involved in attacking play and the added current reposnsibility as CB will reduce when he returns to be RB, and perhaps give him the freedom of mind to run forward. He is certainly capable of doing that.
On the other hand ACole seemed only alright in the shield game, and for some reason I'm getting an 'extinguished' vibe out of him.

By 'reducing' ACole to Ivanovic, I got an extra 0.5m which enabled me to swap Givet  Samba, who is the the centre-piece of the Blackburn defence and also did quite well last season with 5 goals. So overall I think that
Ivanovic+Samba > ACole+Givet.

I have to say even though i don't like Terry all that much i think he is a much better option than ivanavic for the same price, he gets goals as well as bonuses for his bravery! Other than that its a very nice looking team! Only other thing is Essien, he is an absolute beast but not exactly a goal/assist machine. Some one like Nasri would be better imo.

At this time of the season when things are already rolling but still fresh, I won't bother you guys with a complete RMT... suffice to say that I'm quite happy with my current team.

I do have a little quandry now regarding Valencia.
I'm not so certain about him, just like last season.
He's the kind of player to finish a race always on the 4th spot, just outside the winners podium. He's definitely good, but always leaves you wishing for more.

I'm thinking of taking him out for someone else, I fancy mostly Everton's Cahill or god forbid, maintaining my ManU options with Darren Fletcher (directly from the Shameless estate).

I was thinking about doing;
Valencia  Fletcher
...and...
Hahnneman  Hart

What do you boys think?

If you want to get rid of Valencia (although I would hold tight on him) there are far better options than Fletcher around I would have thought. Arteta, Bale and Nani to name only a few. Also I dont think a change of keeper would really be warranted either. But thats just me. Dont panic its gonna be OK!
